The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) and Under The Radar Festival Director Mark Russell are pleased to announce that single tickets are now on sale for the ninth annual UNDER THE RADAR FESTIVAL, January 9-20, 2013, at the newly revitalized Public Theater at Astor Place. A popular and highly-anticipated program of The Public Theater's winter season, the 2013 UNDER THE RADAR FESTIVAL will include artists from seven countries, including Iran, Belarus, the Netherlands, China, Japan, and Australia, and the return of UTR favorites like Back to Back Theatre, Pig Iron Theatre Company, Belarus Free Theatre, Lemon Andersen, and Nature Theater of Oklahoma.

The Public Theater announced today that it will extend the acclaimed new production The Twenty-Seventh Man an additional week, through Sunday, December 16. Written by Nathan Englander and directed by Barry Edelstein, The Twenty-Seventh Man officially opened on Sunday, November 18 and was originally scheduled to close on Sunday, December 9.

The Fountain Theatre has extended the Los Angeles premiere of Tarell Alvin McCraney's lusciously theatrical and boldly original In the Red and Brown Water through the end of February, in honor of Black History Month. Performances will continue through December 16 as previously scheduled, then resume on January 5 for an additional eight weeks through February 24.

Due to popular demand, The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis and Executive Director Patrick Willingham) announced today that the critically acclaimed Public Lab production of SORRY will extend one final week to Sunday, December 2. SORRY, written and directed by Richard Nelson, opened on Tuesday, November 6 to unanimously positive reviews and was originally scheduled to close on November 18. It was extended one additional week to November 25 but strong demand has extended it one final week. Washington National Opera (WNO) will present the world premieres of three new 20-minute operas today, November 19, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. in the Kennedy Center Terrace Theater: The Game of Hearts by composer Douglas Pew and librettist Dara Weinberg, Part of the Act by composer Liam Wade and librettist John Grimmett, and Charon by composer Scott Perkins and librettist Nat Cassidy. The three operas, each highlighting American culture and themes, are the first new works created under the auspices of the American Opera Initiative, WNO's new commissioning program.

Happy Birthday Daphne Rubin-Vega! Rubin Vega is a two-time Tony and Drama Desk nominee and recipient of the Theater World, Obie, Blockbuster awards and was recently nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for her role in Jack Goes Boating. She is perhaps best known for the roles she originated, including Mimi (RENT) and Conchita (Anna in the Tropics), both Pulitzer Prize winning Broadway shows for which she was nominated for the Tony award. She also originated the role of Rahmi (Gum), Sofia (Nilo Cruz' Two Sisters and a Piano), Canary Mary (Suzan-Lori Parks' f**king A, Lucille Lortel nomination) and Lucy (Jack Goes Boating) at the Public Theater, as well as starred in the Broadway revivals of The Rocky Horror Picture Show (Magenta) and Les Mis, ('Fantine') and most recently, The New Group's Blood From a Stone ('Yvette') opposite Ethan Hawke.'
