The Pasadena Playhouse (Artistic Director Sheldon Epps) announced today full casting for BREAKING THROUGH, a world premiere musical, with book by Kirsten Guenther, and music and lyrics by Cliff Downs and Katie Kahanovitz. The production is choreographed by Tyce Diorio, directed by Sheldon Epps and begins rehearsals this week. Preview performances begin October 27, 2015 with the official press opening on November 1, 2015 at The Pasadena Playhouse (39 S. El Molino Avenue in Pasadena).

3D Theatricals (3DT), recipient of the 2015 Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle's Joel Hirschhorn Award for Excellence in Musical Theatre during 2014, beckons all patrons of the arts to buckle up and hold on for a rip-roaring journey back into time by way of the acclaimed Broadway musical SIDE SHOW, based on the true life story of conjoined twins Daisy and Violet Hilton. Side Show has been set for ten performances - exclusively at historic Plummer Auditorium in Fullerton, CA, running April 25 - May 10. Director Brady Schwind opened up about the new production in a recent interview with LA Weekly. He revealed: 'Someone in the show I was doing at the time had a bootleg audio of it. And I listened to it and fell in love with the music. It seemed so exciting, that I think, for a young person, your mind starts thinking about, 'Oh, what would I ever do if I ever staged this show, or if I ever had the chance to work on it?'

Last week we introduced you to Emily Lopez, soon to be playing Carrie in the revival of CARRIE THE MUSICAL at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts. Today we meet Misty Cotton, the other powerhouse actor who will be leading the cast as the mother of all mothers, Margaret White. A day off from rehearsals gave Misty a chance to catch her breath and tell us a little about her road to CARRIE and what it's like stepping into this iconic role.

Coeurage Theatre Company, LA's 'Pay What You Want' Company, has announced their next production, A Bright Room Called Day by Tony Kushner, directed by Coeurage Artistic Director Jeremy Lelliott. There will be two preview performances on Thursday, August 15 and Friday, August 16 at 8pm, and opening is set for Saturday, August 17 at 8pm. A Bright Room Called Day will play through September 15 only at The Lost Studio on S. La Brea Avenue in Los Angeles.
