At the center of Joe's Pub's genre-blind booking is The Public Theater's mission to bring world-class performance to New York City's diverse cultural community.

American Lyric Theater (ALT) has been awarded two grants of $15,000 each from OPERA America's THE OPERA FUND for Repertoire Development. Announced earlier today by OPERA America, the grants are for two operas in development at ALT: La Reina by composer Jorge Sosa and librettist Laura Sosa Pedroza; and The Long Walk, by composer Jeremy Howard Beck and librettist Stephanie Fleischmann based on Brian Castner's critically acclaimed book of the same name.

FRIGID New York Festival presents 'VGL 5'4' Top', written and performed by Lucas Brooks and directed by Matthew Klein, February 20th - March 3rd, 2013. The work is a solo performance about online dating and its affect on body image in gay men.

The Maryland Ensemble Theatre will present the fourth show in its fifteenth anniversary season: Tennessee Williams' much-lauded classic, The Glass Menagerie. The Glass Menagerie is an American masterpiece that announced the presence of one of the greatest dramatists of the 20th Century. Williams' semi-autobiographical heartbreaking yet often humorous memory play about a young struggling poet and his tenuous relationships with his overbearing mother and his fragile sister is an emotionally charged portrait of hope in 1930s St. Louis that is timeless in its ability to capture the imagination and hearts of audiences.

Lady Han is a post-Christmas-nearly-Valentine's-Day, distinctly American take on a classical Noh drama about a prostitute going mad with loneliness.

Joining the cast of The Secret Garden at The King's Head is veteran comedian and actor Freddie Davies who is recreating the role of Ben Weatherstaff for this concert staging having appeared in the original R.S.C and West-End production. The concert version will play 10 February - 17 March, 2013. Press night is 11 February at 7:15pm.

Michael Puzzo's Spirits of Exit Eleven at The Lion Theatre at Theatre Row (410 W. 42nd Street, NYC) opened on Thursday, January 17th at 8PM. TACT/The Actors Company Theatre, the critically-acclaimed company 'dedicated to presenting neglected or rarely produced plays of literary merit,' currently celebrating its 20th Anniversary Season, will present the rarely seen 1926 crime drama Broadway, by Philip Dunning and George Abbott in a one-night only benefit concert performance at the Scholastic Auditorium (557 Broadway, NYC).

Diane Cary, Jane Kaczmarek and Sharon Sharth star as three successful women who challenge themselves to find love and personal fulfillment in the middle years of life. Steven Robman directs the ensemble cast, which also includes Gregory Harrison, James Lancaster and Joel Polis, in the world premiere of The Snake Can by Kathryn Graf (Hermetically Sealed). Performances run tonight, January 19 through February 24, presented by Indie Chi Productions at the Odyssey Theatre in West Los Angeles.
