5th Annual August Wilson Monologue Competition Will Take Place 5/6

Jujamcyn Theaters (Jordan Roth, President) and True Colors Theatre Company (Kenny Leon, Co-Founding Artistic Director) have announced the 5th Annual August Wilson Monologue Competition will take place on Monday, May 6th at 7:00 p.m. at the August Wilson Theatre (245 West 52nd Street). The event, which is free and open to the public, features high school students from Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Pittsburgh and Seattle performing monologues by the late, legendary American playwright.

FROG KISS, the award-winning critical and audience favorite of the 2010 New York Musical Theatre Festival, begins its world premier performances on January 15th at the historic Wells Theatre, home of Virginia Stage Company, Norfolk,. This saucy and swinging musical with book and lyrics by Charles Leipart and music by Eric Schorr, is adapted from the novella The Frog Prince, A Fairytale for Consenting Adults by Stephen Mitchell. Giving audiences an unbridled and candid look behind the scenes of the Broadway curtain, NCM(R) Fathom Events, Overnight Musicals and The Broadway League present 'One Night Stand: Creating a Play in a Day,' a unique one-night event broadcast to movie theaters nationwide on Wednesday, Jan. 30 at 7:30 p.m. local time. This fast-paced, hilarious and entertaining film follows some of New York's top actors, including Cheyenne Jackson (30 Rock, Glee), Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Modern Family) and Rachel Dratch (Saturday Night Live), as well as teams of writers, composers and directors as they are given 24 hours to write, cast, compose, rehearse and perform four short musicals. At the end of the 24 hours, the musicals make their opening, and closing, night at New York City's Gramercy Theatre. The event will also present exclusive behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with the stars of 'One Night Stand' as they share intimate stories of life on Broadway.

Convinced of his innocence despite his criminal record, Fin asks the detectives to find evidence that exonerates him, and in the process, a buried church scandal begins to unravel. Also starring Mariska Hargitay (Detective Olivia Benson), Danny Pino (Detective Nick Amaro) Kelli Giddish (Detective Amanda Rollins) and Tamara Tunie (M.E. Warner). On Saturday, December 15th, The Police Athletic League (PAL), the city's largest, independent, nonprofit youth organization, and CitySights NY, the leader in New York City tours, sightseeing, and attractions, will team up to host many hundreds of boys and girls, ages five to seven, from all five boroughs at a festive holiday party filled with arts and crafts, board games, face painting, inflatable rides, and holiday treats. There will also be a special visit from Santa who will arrive atop a CitySights NY bus filled with over 2,000 toys for the children.
