Exploring in parallel a hostage situation as it teeters on the brink of calamity and what happened when writer David Finnigan first tried to stage this play, the production blends fact and fiction as Nathan Coenen stars as Finig (The Sleepover Club; Teen Wolf).

HISTORY is teaming with Sylvester Stallone to develop the drama series 'The Tenderloin' (working title) from A+E Studios in association with Balboa Productions, it was announced today at A+E Networks' Upfront. Stallone will executive produce and direct multiple episodes. Stephen Kay ('Sons of Anarchy,' 'The Shield') is set to write the pilot.

SHOWTIME has announced that Oscar and Golden Globe® nominee Adriana Barraza (Babel) has joinedPENNY DREADFUL: CITY OF ANGELS, the next chapter of the PENNY DREADFUL saga, in the role of Maria Vega. Maria is the powerful matriarch of the Vega family, who will go to any lengths to protect her children from the dangerous world of 1938 social politics, as well as from the chilling supernatural forces invading their lives. The series also stars Natalie Dormer, Daniel Zovatto, Jessica Garza, Johnathan Nieves and Tony® and Emmy® winner Nathan Lane. Tony and Golden Globe award winner and three-time Oscar nominee John Logan, the creator, writer and executive producer of the Emmy nominated series PENNY DREADFUL, continues in those same roles. Michael Aguilar (KIDDING) also serves as executive producer. Production on the drama series is expected to begin later this year.

 Mattel, Inc. (NASDAQ: MAT) and Metro Goldwyn Mayer Pictures (MGM) have partnered to develop a live action motion picture based on Mattel's classic American Girl® line of books and dolls.

Drayton Entertainment announces casting for Rocky: The Musical. This adrenaline-fueled musical based on Sylvester Stallone's Academy© Award-winning film will launch the 2019 Season at the Hamilton Family Theatre Cambridge. The production will run for four weeks from March 6 to March 31.

Emmy-nominated actor and comedian Billy Gardell starred in the CBS hit television series, Mike & Molly as Officer Mike Biggs from 2010-2016. Gardell brings his stand-up comedy to the State Theatre for a show on Friday, October 4.

Metro Goldwyn Mayer Pictures (MGM) announced today acclaimed stage director Liesl Tommy, the first black woman to earn a Tony Award nomination for Best Direction of a Play, is set to direct Respect, a feature film based on the life of music icon Aretha Franklin. As previously announced, Academy Award, Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild, BAFTA and Grammy Award winner Jennifer Hudson was personally handpicked by Ms. Franklin to portray her on the big screen.  Academy Award and Golden Globe winner Callie Khouri (Thelma & Louise, creator of Nashville) will pen the screenplay following the rise of Ms. Franklin's career, from a child singing in her father's church's choir to an iconic and international superstar. The announcement was made today by Jonathan Glickman, President, Motion Picture Group.

Legendary actress and author Jamie Lee Curtis will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 56th Annual International Cinematographers Guild (ICG, IATSE Local 600) Publicists Awards celebrating her prolific acting career spanning four decades and still going strong. The awards luncheon returns to the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Friday, February 22, 2019.

The 50th NAACP Image Awards will air LIVE on TV One, a division of Urban One, Inc., on March 30, 2019. For the first time ever, the telecast will take place from the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California. The announcement was made today by NAACP National Board of Directors Chairman Leon W. Corinne Foxx, Sistine Stallone, the daughters of Jamie Foxx and Sylvester Stallone, respectively, will be making their film debuts in 47 Meters Down — Uncaged. The sequel to box office breakout 47 Meters Down, will star John Corbett (Sex In The City), Nia Long (Empire), Sophie Nelisse (The Book Thief), Foxx, Stallone, Brianne Tju (Scream TV series), Davi Santos (Polaroid) and Khylin Rhambo (Teen Wolf), according to Deadline.

Totem Pole Playhouse, America's beloved summer theatre located in Caledonia State Park between Gettysburg and Chambersburg, PA, has announced the opening of the Totem Pole Playhouse Academy.
