West End Stars to Unite for THE PHILIPPINE DREAM at Leicester Square Theatre, 17 August

Summer Strallen (The Sound of Music, Top Hat), Anton du Beke (Strictly Come Dancing), Dianne Pilkington (Mamma Mia!, Wicked) and cast members from Miss Saigon head a glittering line-up of West End stars in THE PHILIPPINE DREAM - a one-off Gala at the Leicester Square Theatre on Sunday 17 August to raise money for abandoned and abused orphans in Manila. A special guest host for the evening will be announced shortly.

Top Hat, winner of three Olivier Awards, for 'Best New Musical', 'Best Choreography' and 'Best Costume Design' from a total of seven nominations and winner of the Evening Standard Award for 'Best Night Out', is setting off on an epic 47-week UK tour, visiting 24 theatres nationwide. Opening at New Wimbledon Theatre on Tuesday 12 August 2014 the production will tour until Saturday 25 July 2015.

According to an Equity casting notice, Top Hat, which won Best New Musical at the 2013 Olivier Awards, will get a New York City developmental lab March 7-20. Tony-winner Christopher Gatelli is set to helm the project as director and choreographer.

Jonathan Reid Gealt performed in concert on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th September at St. James for TransAtlantic. Craig Adams and Steven Luke Walker joined Gealt in concert for a TransAtlantic mix of new musical theatre. Matthew Barrow, Craig Colton, Danielle Hope, Kelly Anne Gower and Jennifer Tierney were also performing, plus two of the three 'Quiet' competition winners' Daniel Gregory (PPA 3rd year) and Tom Cromwell (from Australia). The band was led by Aaron Williams.

The sixth Singers Soiree charity concert has announced its transfer from Battersea Barge to the St Giles-in-the-Fields church, just off of Tottenham Court Road on 6 September. Not only does this new venue offer a much more central location but it also boats a seating capacity of more than 10 times the previous venue (moving from 70 to 700 seats).

The show has been said to be aimed towards Broadway since it first opened, with American producers on board from day one. Today, Michael Riedel reports in the New York Post that 'Tune, now 74, is getting back in the game. At the behest of his good friend Jimmy Nederlander, a theater legend in his own right, Tune's in London inspecting a new show called 'Top Hat.'

Douglas Hodge stars as Willy Wonka in the brand-new production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London. Directed by Academy Award winner Sam Mendes, the story is brought to life with music by Marc Shaiman and lyrics by Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman (Grammy winners for Hairspray; Smash), with a book by award-winning playwright and adaptor David Greig (The Bacchae; Tintin In Tibet).
