Clive Gillinson, Executive and Artistic Director, today announced Carnegie Hall's 2017-2018 season consisting of more than 170 concerts as well as a wide range of education and social impact programs created by Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute.

The Johnny Mercer Foundation and the American Music Theatre Project (AMTP) at Northwestern University are seeking the nation's most talented songwriters, aged 18 to 30 years, for the 12th annual Johnny Mercer Foundation Songwriters Project.

Northlight Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans, presents the World Premiere of Faceless, written by Selina Fillinger and directed by BJ Jones.  Faceless runs January 26 - March 4, 2017 at Northlight Theatre, 9501 Skokie Blvd in Skokie. The press opening is scheduled for Friday, February 3 at 8 pm.

The European Premiere of WORKING will open at Southwark Playhouse on 7 June 2017, with previews from 2 June, for a strictly limited season ending 8 July 2017.

On Saturday evening, November 5, 2016, at 7 p.m., at Riverside's Fox Performing Arts Center, members of the Second City comedy troupe will apply their unique comedy style to this election season, in a performance of UNELECTABLE YOU: THE SECOND CITY'S COMPLETELY UNBIASED POLITICAL REVUE. UNELECTABLE YOU, jointly presented by Second City and Slate Magazine, is a fast-paced combination of sketch, improvisation, music, and multi-media that takes a hard-hitting look at the United States' election process in general and the improbable events of 2016 in particular.

The New York Post writes that convicted forger and producer Garth Drabinsky is planning his next stage project. Rumor is Drabinsky, producing via entertainment company StageVentures, has booked Toronto's Elgin Theatre for a new musical based on the 1988 film MADAME SOUSATZKA, which he produced, starring Shirley MacLaine.
