Warner Stage Company to Present ALL SHOOK UP, Begin. 5/3

It's 1955, and into a square little town in a square little state rides a guitar-playing roustabout, Chad (Ian Diedrich), who changes everything and everyone he meets in this hip-swiveling, lip-curling musical fantasy that'll have you jumpin' out of your blue suede shoes with such classics as 'Heartbreak Hotel,' 'Jailhouse Rock,' and 'Don't Be Cruel.' Inspired by and featuring the songs of Elvis Presley and based off of the book by Joe DiPietro.

Know a teenager or middle school student with a knack for improv? Are they looking to hone their comedic skills or try out improv in one of Charlotte's most creative performance spaces? Starting April 21, actor and educator Elizabeth Byland ('Recent Tragic Events,' 'Reasons To Be Pretty,' 'Last Days of Judas Iscariot') will conduct CAST Off Laugh Off, a five-week Improv Intensive for middle and high school students at CAST (Carolina Actors Studio Theatre). This class is for ages 12-18. The five-week after-school program concludes May 27 with an improv showcase for friends and family on June 4th.

Richmond Ballet is pleased to announce the line-up for the 2014-15 season, a season that will include a three-production residency at the Carpenter Theatre beginning in late October, as well as a three-part Studio Series that will once again open the season beginning in September. The 2014-15 season will feature the return of one of the most popular pieces from the Ballet's repertory in Carmina Burana, John Butler's impassioned masterwork, set to Carl Orff's musical triumph of the same name. Nicolas Beriozoff's Don Quixote, a thrilling full-length ballet alive with flair and some of the best music ever written for ballet in the memorable score of Ludwig Minkus, is also set to return to the Carpenter Theatre stage this season. The holiday favorite, The Nutcracker, will once again be part of the Ballet's much anticipated Carpenter Theatre residency.

First produced by the women's theater company in 2004, the theatrical hour reminisces one version of a marriage over a lifetime. With the sparse scenery recreating a vision of somewhere in mid-19th century rural New Zealand, the production becomes an evening as the retro song claims: 'Love is lovelier the second time around.'
