Award-winning ESPN journalist Chris Mortensen has been named this year's NFL Players Association Georgetown Lombardi Award honoree.

ESPN's third annual ESPY Day to benefit The V Foundation raised more than $3.9 million for cancer research, including $1.4 million that will be directed to the Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer Research Fund, which encourages cutting-edge research for minority populations suffering from cancer.

ESPN will showcase highlights of the Sports Humanitarian of the Year Awards tonight Friday, July 15, during a 30-minute program at 7 p.m. ET.

ESPN today announced that Sager will be honored with the Jimmy V Perseverance Award on July 13 at The 2016 ESPYS presented by Capital One on ABC.

Craig Sager is one of the most respected sideline reporters in sports, and he is well known for both his colorful attire and personality. Given a life-changing diagnosis of leukemia in 2014, TNT's hard-working veteran returned to the sidelines in 2015 and continues to publicly battle the disease while remaining committed to the work he loves. ESPN today announced that Sager will be honored with the Jimmy V Perseverance Award at “The 2016 ESPYS presented by Capital One.” The ESPYS will be broadcast live on WEDNESDAY, JULY 13 (8:00-11:00 p.m. EDT), on ABC.

ESPN's 2015 Jimmy V Week for Cancer Research raised a record-setting $3.2 million for The V Foundation for Cancer Research – a million more than the 2014 previous fundraising record of $2.2 million.

Suzy Kolber and Trey Wingo, two of ESPN's veteran NFL hosts and most recognizable faces, have reached new long-term extensions to remain with the company. During the upcoming NFL season, both will expand their roles as part of their new deals.
