Dee Hoty to Lead THE PREACHER AND THE SHRINK at Beckett Theatre; Performances to Begin 11/2

Broadway favorite Dee Hoty is set to star in THE PREACHER AND THE SHRINK, a new play by Merle Good. Performances will begin November 2nd, with the official Opening Night on Monday, November 18th at 7 PM at The Beckett Theatre at Theatre Row, 410 West 42nd Street. The limited engagement is scheduled to run through January 4th. Under the direction of Steven Yuhasz,THE PREACHER AND THE SHRINK will also feature Tom Galantich (Mamma Mia!, City of Angels, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels),Richard Thieriot (Clybourne Park), Adria Vitlar (The Columnist), and Nicholas Urda (Love's Labour's Lost).

Connecticut's premier outdoor Shakespeare will present As You Like It, tonight, June 13-30, 2013. The show is one of Shakespeare's most beloved and pastoral comedies. Claire Shannon Kelly, currently the Director of Youth Programming for Shakespeare on the Sound and the director of the company's touring educational program, 'Speaking Daggers,' will direct. Kelly previously worked at the Ordway Theater, the Guthrie Theater, the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey and the George Street Playhouse. She is a resident of New Canaan.

Shakespeare on the Sound, a non-profit committed to producing free, professional open-air productions of the plays of William Shakespeare and offering year-round educational programming for the community is in pursuit of raising $17,500 for Anti-Bullying Program "Speaking Daggers" on crowd source funding website, Indiegogo.com. The writing team of a new Broadway-bound musical, inspired by the once shockingly explicit 1928 D.H. Lawrence masterpiece, Lady Chatterley's Lover, is turning to the Internet to fundraise for an industry reading to be held in New York City in late fall. With its notarity abroad and questionable content at the time of its conception, the music and content aims to bring a story to the stage that bridges the gap between so many of our personal and internal battles and unite us in a constant search for spiritual love and the drive that empowers us to find it.

Shakespeare on the Sound, Connecticut's premier outdoor free Shakespeare company, today announced that Steven Yuhasz has joined the organization as its new Executive Director. Yuhasz replaces Emily Bryan, who is now the organization's Director of Education. This is the first Executive Director in the organization's 17 year history.
