Egads! Theatre Company heats things up at the Off Center Theatre with Lysistrata Jones. Tony Award nominee Douglas Carter Beane wrote the musical comedy with a contemporary pop score by Lewis Flinn. Steven Eubank directs the Kansas City production, which runs from June 14 through July 12.

BUYER & CELLAR's Jonathan Tolins Set for Metropolitan Opera Quiz Panel on 1/11

Jonathan Tolins, the author of Buyer & Cellar, will be a panelist on the Metropolitan Opera Quiz during the first intermission of this week's broadcast of Die Fledermaus. The new production of Strauss's operetta is performed in English with new dialogue by Broadway playwright Douglas Carter Beane, and features Tony Award winner Danny Burstein in the comic role of Frosch the jailer. This will be Tolins's second appearance on the Quiz after making his debut a year ago. Buyer & Cellar continues its record-breaking run at the Barrow Street Theatre off-Broadway and is currently selling tickets through April 13. The show will be produced later this year in Chicago, Los Angeles, and other cities to be announced.

After a sold out run at Roundabout Underground's Black Box Theatre, Joshua Harmon's hit comedy Bad Jews moved upstairs to the Laura Pels Theatre for our 2013-2014 Season. This production played a total of 100 performances from first preview on September 19 through the extended closing date of December 29. Original cast members Tracee Chimo, Philip Ettinger, Molly Ranson and Michael Zegen came back to our stage under the direction of Daniel Aukin.

Reprising their roles are Dan Lauria (Lombardi, 'The Wonder Years,' 'Sullivan and Son') as Jean Shepherd, John Bolton(Spamalot, Contact, Titanic, 'Boardwalk Empire,' 'Gossip Girl') as the Old Man, Tony Award nominee Erin Dilly (Nice Work if You Can Get It, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) as Mother and Caroline O'Connor (Chicago, Moulin Rouge) as school teacher Miss Shields. Eli Tokash (Mary Poppins) plays Ralphie at certain perforances, Noah Baird as little brother Randy, and Jake Lucas (Newsies, Far From Heaven), donning the famous spectacles will take on the lead role of Ralphie.

Barnes & Noble just celebrated the release of the new Ghostlight Records cast recording NATASHA, PIERRE AND THE GREAT COMET OF 1812 with a special in-store performance and CD signing yesterday, December 10, the CD release date. The event was hosted by composer/writer Dave Malloy and included director Rachel Chavkin and members of the original cast. Barnes & Noble will celebrate the release of the new Ghostlight Records cast recording NATASHA, PIERRE AND THE GREAT COMET OF 1812 with a special in-st0re performance and CD signing on Tuesday, December 10, the CD release date. Ghostlight Records has announced the release of the original cast recording of Dave Malloy's hit electropop operaNATASHA, PIERRE AND THE GREAT COMET OF 1812. The complete 111 minute recording of the through-sung score will be available from digital outlets today, October 29 and the deluxe two-CD set will be in stores on December 10. A highlights version, featuring special selections from the acclaimed work, will also be available in digital format on October 29.
