Arthur Darvill and Joanna Christie recently made their Broadway debuts starring in the 8-time Tony Award-winning Best Musical Once at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre on April 23rd. The actors took over from the temporary leads Ben Hope and Laura Dreyfuss, who, as planned and scheduled, resume being standbys for 'Guy' and 'Girl.' Glen Hansard, Academy Award winner and co-writer of the music and lyrics for Once, visited the Phoenix Theatre to meet with Declan Bennett and Zrinka Cvitesic, the leading actors in the critically acclaimed West End production.

Green Day lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong, who wrote this rock opera's lyrics, and his punk rock band that created its unstoppably vibrant music weren't going for "comfortable." They were aiming, along with co-creator and director Michael Mayer (who picked up a Tony for his direction of Spring Awakening), to offer a musical production that breaks ground for its in-your-face punk rock approach to storytelling and its entirely unapologetic tale of sex, drugs and (punk) rock n' roll. And while there's lots of all of the above-and all very well done-there's not so much in the way of a plot with any depth.

John Tiffany will direct the National Theatre of Scotland and Marla Rubin Productions's stage version of LET THE RIGHT ONE IN at Dundee Rep Theatre, opening June 8, and running through June 29.

Katrina Lenk will join the cast of the 8-time Tony Award-winning Best Musical ONCE at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre beginning Tuesday, May 7. Ms. Lenk will take over the role of 'Reza' from Claire Wellen, who, as planned, was playing the role temporarily.

Stage Entertainment USA and Sylvester Stallone have announced that the new musical, ROCKY, will come to Broadway in 2014, beginning preview performances in February and officially opening in March at Broadway's historic Winter Garden Theatre (1634 Broadway, New York, NY). ROCKYreceived its world premiere in fall 2012 in Hamburg, Germany, where it earned unanimous critical raves and continues to play to packed houses.

Stage Entertainment USA and Sylvester Stallone have announced that the new musical, ROCKY, will come to Broadway in 2014, beginning preview performances in February and officially opening in March at Broadway's historic Winter Garden Theatre. ROCKY received its world premiere in fall 2012 in Hamburg, Germany.

The paper reports that 'the Broadway version is expected to cost about $15 million, according to Bill Taylor of Stage Entertainment USA, which is producing 'Rocky' on Broadway with Mr. Stallone.' and that 'The Broadway production is expected to be fairly similar to the one in Hamburg, Mr. Taylor said, including the finale - Rocky's climatic fight against Apollo in a regulation-size boxing ring - and the use of music from the movies, like Bill Conti's theme music and 'Eye of the Tiger.'
