Actors' Shakespeare Project closes its record-breaking season with Richard Brinsley Sheridan's clever comedy of manners THE SCHOOL FOR SCANDAL, directed by Resident Acting Company member Paula Plum with adaptation by RAC member Steven Barkhimer. The show runs April 13 - May 8, 2016, at Multicultural Arts Center, 41 2nd Street, Cambridge.

Actors' Shakespeare Project (ASP) today revealed new venues and  casting for the next two productions for the 2015/16 Season, Affairs of the Heart. The company's 12th season opened with the  tragedy in Othello, now playing until October 25 at The Modern Theatre at Suffolk University. Next ASP explores romance in The Winter's Tale, war and strife in Richard II, and comedy in The School for Scandal.  "ASP strives to present bold themes-the kind audiences not only expect, they demand of us," says Artistic Director Allyn Burrows. The Boston Theater Critics' Association hosted the 32nd anniversary presentation of the Elliot Norton Awards last night at the Wheelock Family Theatre. Barely before people were in their seats, the tap dancing ensemble of Stoneham Theatre's THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, led by Ephie Aardema, shuffled, ball changed, and kicked off the festivities. An enthusiastic Joyce Kulhawik, President of the BTCA, took the podium as Master of Ceremonies to introduce a parade of fellow critics and past winners as presenters, as well as two more nominated musical performances later in the program.

2014 KCACTF National Festival Awardees Announced!

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced the national awardees of the 46th annual Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF), April 14-19, 2014. Dozens of students received scholarships, fellowships, and cash awards in recognition of their outstanding work. From January 7 through March 1, 2014, these student artists from eight regions presented their work and were selected to travel to Washington, D.C. for an expenses-paid trip to participate in National Festival events taking place at the Kennedy Center.
