LA Opera's 2016/17 season will open with Giuseppe Verdi's Macbeth, opening on September 17, 2016. General Director Placido Domingo will perform the title role for the first time in the United States. The producers of the Tony, Grammy & Olivier Award-Winning Best Musical Jersey Boysannounced today that Nicolas Dromard and Drew Seeley will join the Broadway cast in the roles of Tommy DeVito and Bob Gaudio (respectively) beginning Tuesday, September 20th. Richard H. Blake and Quinn VanAntwerp will play their final performances this Sunday, September 18th.

Director Darko Tresnjak directed 24 other Shakespeare productions before mounting his first ROMEO AND JULIET, currently on the boards at Hartford Stage where he is Artistic Director. His hesitation arose from his belief that, despite the play's popularity, it is a problematic piece by a young playwright.
It's worth the wait.
