by Tyler Peterson
- Aug 11, 2013
Theatre Planners presents Greeks 6 - Trojans 5, a world premiere comedy with music written by Chuck Faerber, similar in style and spirit to 'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum' but whackier, involving Greek soldiers embedded in the fabled Trojan Horse. Although set in the ancient world, Greeks 6 - Trojans 5 is a hilarious, eccentric, and irreverent send-up of modern warfare, technology, and mores (yes - mores!). The play runs through September 8, on Saturdays at 8pm, with a Sunday matinee at 3pm. Buy Tix/info: www.plays411.com or (323) 960-7774. Whitefire Theatre 13500 Ventura Blvd Sherman Oaks 91423.
Steve Franklin and Lynn Peters Adler Release New Book, 'Celebrate 100'
by Christina Mancuso

Many answers to the challenging questions of life today can be found in the wisdom of those who have traveled the road before us. We seek answers to our troubling economy, answers to an uncertain future, and answers that will lead to financial security, emotional stability, meaningful relationships, enjoyable work, and living life longer, healthier, and 'larger.' What if the answers to many of these challenges about money, work and life could be found in the authentic wisdom and experiences from the past and present in America's centenarians? And what if we fail to capture that wisdom and experience -those secrets - and share them with the younger generation?
BWW Interviews: Curt Dale Clark Tackles Triple Roles at MSMT
by Carla Maria Verdino-Süllwold
- Jun 3, 2013
The dark, handsome man with twinkling blue eyes and classically chiseled features who sits opposite me at the Maine State Music Theatre has the look of a leading man. However, at this moment he is wearing his hat as the company's newly minted Artistic Consultant.
Nonetheless, I am not wrong in my initial impression. Curt Dale Clark is, indeed, a leading man - a prominent actor who has tread the boards in major theatres across the country starring in roles such as Javert (Les Miserables), The Phantom (Phantom of the Opera), Don Lockwood (Singing in the Rain), and Joe Gillis (Sunset Boulevard). He is also the playwright and lyricist of a number of musical fairy tales, for which his longtime collaborator, Marc Robin has written the music. But this is the first juncture in a career that has spanned twenty-four years that Clark has had the opportunity to combine his creative and acting talents with his skills as a theatre administrator.
BWW Interviews: Director/Playwright Les Wieder Talks about VOICES at Griot Theatre
by Don Grigware
- Mar 22, 2013
In high school, a girl I was dating got the lead in the school musical. I didn't want her to be rehearsing all night with other guys, so I tried out for the show. Much to my surprise, I was given one of the lead male roles. I've always suspected that it was because I could sing on key. Anyway, that was 1960, and that's where my life in the theatre began.
