Seth Rudetsky's DISASTER, A 1970's disaster movie musical; written by Seth Rudetsky and Jack Plotnick, directed/choreographed by Denis Jones with music direction by Steve Marzullo, will continue playing at The Triad (158 West 72nd Street). The show began on January 22 and has been extended and will NOW run through March 25, 2012.

The Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs (MAC) has announced the nominees for the 26th Annual MAC Awards. The winners will be announced live at the MAC Awards Show on Thursday, March 29th, at the world-famous B.B. King Blues Club & Grill.

The Media Theatre's 2012 fundraising Gala was held Saturday evening February 25. The weather was as supportive as the patrons and attendees, who were treated to a memorable performance by Broadway's legendary Andrea McArdle following a live auction enthusiastically appropriated by Jeffry Cadorette.

The New Voices Collective is gearing up for IN DEVELOPMENT: New Songs from New Shows, New Voices' triumphant return to its original home at Peter Norton Symphony Space, this coming Monday, December 12, at 8:00 p.m. An incredible roster of composers have contributed songs from their new musicals, providing a 'sneak peek' at an interesting array of projects, such as Homemade Fusion by Michael Kooman and Christopher Dimond and Bunnicula by Sam Davis and Mark Waldrop.

In addition to the range, power, and magnificence of her incredible vocal instrument, it is Audra McDonald's stunning capacity for storytelling in her singing that places her in the upper stratum of concert performers.

Citilites Theatre presents a late night show, making a sort of double bill for theatre patrons after they take in THE CRUMPLE ZONE, with the short musical, SONGS FROM AN UNMADE BED. Fortunately, it's well worth staying over for (although I took in a Sunday matinee performance), featuring a terrific performance from Justin Ivan Brown. It's a collection of eighteen songs by various composers, but all featuring the pithy and amusing lyrics of Mark Campbell. The brevity of the show, which runs about an hour, is perfectly suited to the material, and easily outshines the production that plays before it.
