Stars of the stage and screen swapped their costumes for aprons, and served diners for a one-off sitting at The Ivy, a restaurant renowned for its unfaltering service. Leading the waiting staff this year and trying their hand at bartending, waiting tables, auctioneering, taking coats and welcoming guests were Jim Carter, Sheila Hancock and Dame Penelope Wilton. They were joined by Annette Badland, Michael Ball, Samantha Bond, Laura Carmichael, Ben Forster, Michael Fox, Ginny Holder, Celia Imrie, Jeremy Irvine, George Layton, John Partridge, Arlene Phillips, Peter Polycarpou, Jemma Redgrave, Samantha Spiro, Neil Stuke, Owen Teale, Harriet Thorpe, Jason Watkins and Simon Williams.

Theatrical charity Acting for Others announces that over 150,000 has been raised at this year's One Night Only at The Ivy setting the record for the highest amount raised from this event. Stars of the stage and screen swapped their costumes for aprons and served diners across two sittings at The Ivy, world-renowned for their unfaltering impeccable service. Heading up the waiting staff this year to ply their trades in bartending, waiting tables, manning cloakrooms and welcoming guests were Noma Dumezweni, Arlene Phillips and Freddie Fox.

Theatrical charity Acting for Others today announces the return of One Night Only at The Ivy in West Street on Sunday 10 December 2017. Over 100,000 was raised last year for the charity, which is an umbrella organisation for 15 invaluable charities dedicated to supporting people from the theatre and dance communities who have fallen on hard times through injury, illness or circumstance.

Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap has today announced it is now booking through to its 100th birthday in 2052. The Mousetrap originally opened in 1952 starring Richard Attenborough and his wife Sheila Sim.

According to BBC News, the possibility of closing West End productions for the 2012 Summer Olypics in London is still being discussed. Theatre owner Stephen Waley-Cohen commented: 'There's a lot of discussion and disagreement about what is going to happen.'

The Chichester Festival Theatre production of Love Story will transfer to the West End previewing at the Duchess Theatre from 27 November, with press night on 6 December 2010. Love Story, which is produced in the West End by Michael Ball - making his producing debut, Adam Spiegel and Stephen Waley-Cohen, is currently booking until 26 February 2011.
