George Street Playhouse and Artistic Director David Saint have announced that New Jersey native John Tartaglia, from the original Broadway cast of Avenue Q, as well as TV's Sesame Street and the Emmy Award - nominated Johnny and the Sprites will be appearing in New Brunswick as the sole cast member of Buyer & Cellar, the fourth production of the New Brunswick theatre's current season. Mr. Tartaglia will take the fictional journey to the fictional version of Barbra Streisand's fictional basement beginning March 3 through March 29. Opening night is set for Friday, March 6. Mr. Saint helms the production.

NJTV, New Jersey's public television network, and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) announced that the second season of American Songbook at NJPAC will air beginning January 28th at 8pm on NJTV. The series will also air weekly on THIRTEEN beginning Saturday, March 21 at 1pm (check local listings), and be scheduled on WLIW21 in the spring.

Riverside's celebrated 2014-2015 Season continues with the most anticipated show of the season, West Side Story. Conceived by Arthur Laurents, Leonard Bernstein and Jerome Robbins, West Side Story tells the tale of two star-crossed lovers from different worlds who fight to keep their passion alive. West Side Story performs on the Stark Stage from February 17 - March 8, 2015 and is sponsored by The O'Haire Fessler Group/Merrill Lynch Wealth Management along with Riverside Theatre's Patron Producers.

The production of Chekov's 'The Seagull,' now on at the Berkley Street Theatre, is an uneven disappointment. It fails to engage. Like Theatre 20's production of Stephen Sondheim's 'Company,' presented in the same venue last year, this Crow's Theatre production does not deliver on its exciting promise.

Fiasco Theater's production of INTO THE WOODS, presented by Roundabout Theatre Company in association with McCarter Theatre Center, has opened to widespread critical acclaim Off-Broadway, and is now extended by three weeks through April 12, 2015.

The Breakthrough Theatre of Winter Park presents its annual Best of Broadway musical revue, this year featuring songs from the Early Years of Broadway (1920-1974), from January 22-February 2, 2015.

The Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival 2015 season will feature a slate of top-notch directors, choreographers, musical directors and designers. And for the fourth consecutive year, the new-works series, The PiTCH, returns with new writing teams from all over the country presenting their new musicals in development. The PiTCH will run from June 11 - August 1.

In New York, Meryl Streep, Christine Baranski and Tracey Ullman performed a surprise musical number before presenting Emmy Award-winning director Rob Marshall (Into the Woods) with the Casting Society of America's 2015 New York City Apple Award at this year's Artios Awards. Lincoln Center is expanding its Lincoln Center Local series, offering free screenings of world-class performances to library branches around New York City's five boroughs. The Lincoln Cente­­r Local: Free Screenings series, running from January to June 2015, is part of a pilot program run by Lincoln Center Education, and expands upon last year's Lincoln Center Local HD series.

Roundabout Theatre Company presents a new Off-Broadway production of Stephen Sondheim & James Lapine's Tony Award-winning Into the Woods. Directed by Noah Brody and Ben Steinfeld, this production premiered in May 2013 at the McCarter Theatre in association with the Fiasco Theater. Into the Woods officially opened last night, January 22, 2015 at the Laura Pels Theatre in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street).
