Tony Nominee Annaleigh Ashford to Make West Coast Debut at the Venetian Room This Spring
Bay Area Cabaret presents the versatile Tony-nominated Broadway and television star Annaleigh Ashford in her West Coast cabaret debut on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at 5 p.m.
With a gift and a passion for cabaret she currently stars as the former hooker "Betty Dimelo" in the hit Showtime series, The Masters Of Sex, and can be seen on Broadway in You Can't Take it with You opposite James Earl Jones, Richard Thomas, and Anna Chlumsky. Originating the role of Lauren in Harvey Fierstein and Cyndi Lauper's Tony-winning musical Kinky Boots, Ms. Ashford received Tony Award and Drama Desk Award nominations for Best Featured Actress in a Musical. Variety called her "sizzling and sensational." She made her Broadway debut in 2006, originating the role of Margot in Legally Blonde: The Musical. After a year, she starred as Glinda in the Broadway production of Wicked, then on Broadway in Hair and Grease.
Lost in the Stars will feature the haunting melodies of Kurt Weill and Stephen Sondheim, songs that honor of the Venetian Room's rich musical history, and even a surprise number or two from the days of disco, offering up a touch of fun and a whole lot of heart.
The performance will take place on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at 5:00pm at the Venetian Room of the Fairmont San Francisco, 950 Mason Street, atop Nob Hill, San Francisco, CA. For Bay Area Cabaret patrons, the Fairmont Hotel offers a lavish buffet dinner in the Laurel Court for $44 plus tax and tip, including free parking for all who dine in the Laurel Court.
