There are two things you should know about me: I am a musical theatre lover, and I love to schmooze with actors and composers. I am very fortunate to live in the DC area where our theatre community is growing by leaps and bounds. There are so many productions opening in September in DC, Maryland and Virginia theatres, my head is spinning trying to figure out which ones I will see.

Arena Stage presents The Quality of Life, written by playwright and Emmy Award-winner Jane Anderson and directed by Lisa Peterson (Arena's The Rainmaker). In this 'magnetic work of theater' (San Francisco Chronicle) filled with compassion, honesty and humor, we find two couples dealing very differently with devastation.

Thomas, a successful businessman and the descendent of former slaves to the estate, has a plan to save the land: turn it into subdivisions and sell it to the white families fleeing the city. Wendy C. Goldberg, Artistic Director of the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's National Playwrights Conference (NPC) and Paulette Haupt, Artistic Director of the National Music Theater Conference (NMTC), announced the actors cast in their 2008 projects. The actors include a mix of award-winning actors from stage and screen, seasoned O'Neill performers, and new talent.

New Federal Theatre, Inc., under the direction of Founder and Producing Director Woodie King, Jr., will begin previews of Richard Abrons' comedy/drama, Three Travelers, at St. Clements Theatre Sunday, January 13, 2008. The official opening will be on Thursday, January 24, 2008. Jay Broad Directs.

Robert Prosky and Helen Carey will star in Michael Frayn's farce Noises Off, presented by Washington D.C.'s Arena Stage from December 15th through January 28th in the Kreeger Theater
