THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, has broken its own house record in Minneapolis for the week ending February 17 at the Orpheum Theatre. THE BOOK OF MORMON first broke the record the week of February 10.

Broadway In Chicago has announced that WICKED will return to Chicago in celebration of its 10th anniversary on Broadway and play the Oriental Theatre (24 West Randolph) for a limited eight-week engagement, Oct. 30 to Dec. 21, 2013.

A day-of-performance lottery for a limited number of orchestra seats will be held for WICKED, which is returning to the Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre with performances from February 20-March 10. Two and one-half hours prior to each performance, people who present themselves at the Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre box office will have their names placed in a lottery drum; thirty minutes later, names will be drawn for a limited number of orchestra seats at $25 each, cash only. This lottery is available only in-person at the box office, with a limit of two tickets per person. Lottery participants must have a valid photo ID when submitting their entry form and, if chosen, when purchasing tickets.

The show broke the record at the Des Moines Civic Center grossing $1,563,897.00. THE BOOK OF MORMON breaks the record, previously set by WICKED in 2009.

After breaking box office records and selling out in record time in 2010, WICKED, Broadway's biggest blockbuster, will return to Milwaukee's Marcus Center for the Performing Arts on June 12 - July 7. Mark Evans and Christopher John O'Neill just joined the cast of the national tour of The Book of Mormon as Elder Price and Elder Cunningham respectively. They replaced Gavin Creel and Jared Gertner who join the West End company at the Prince of Wales Theatre from February 25. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Tony nominee Rory O'Malley played his final performance in THE BOOK OF MORMON on January 27th. He'll be replaced by Matt Loehr, who takes over as Elder McKinley tonight, January 29.

After record breaking runs in 2006, 2008 and 2011 WICKED will return to Ft. Lauderdale this month for a limited 3-week engagement.

The First National Tour of THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical, will play a strictly limited nine-day, 11-performance engagement from Saturday, October 12 through Sunday, October 20, 2013 at the Orpheum Theater, 409 South 16th St., Omaha, Nebraska. The production will open the 2013/2014 Omaha Performing Arts. Broadway Series, the balance of which will be announced at a later date.

The Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle (LADCC) has announced its nominations and special awards for excellence in Los Angeles and Orange County theatre in 2012. The 44th annual LADCC Awards ceremony will take place on Monday, March 18 at historic, heralded Los Angeles Theatre Center, 514 S. Spring Street in downtown L.A.
