High Schools Participate In 2nd Annual Northwest Indiana High School Improv Invitational

Improv comedy - it has helped spawn the careers of comedy titans Chris Farley, Steve Carrell, Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert, and countless others.  The comedic skills people learned there have spread around the world and spawned off thousands of improv theatre & sketch groups, TV shows, and Youtube clips.  Now those talents are being put to use to continue putting Northwest Indiana on the improv map in a special one-day event.  The Stray Dogs Improv of Crown Point High School & Improductions, LLC present the second Northwest Indiana High School Improv Invitational on April 6th at Crown Point High School at 6 PM.

The Second City announces a showcase of the Greatest Hits from previous decades with The Second City's Greatest Hits: 90s Edition, The Second City's Greatest Hits: 80s Edition, and The Second City's Greatest Hits: 70s Edition. Each decade will play for a consecutive month on Tuesday and Wednesdays at 8pm, beginning in March 2019 at UP Comedy Club, 230 W. North Ave.

ABC's KIMMEL Hits a New Single-Day Season High in Households, With Its Top-Rated Telecast Since June 2018

On Monday, March 11, 2019, ABC's “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” hit a new single-day season high in Households (2.4/6) in the 56 Metered Markets, marking the show's highest-rated telecast on any night since June 2018 – since an NBA Finals-led broadcast on Wednesday, 6/6/18. “Kimmel” shot up over the week-ago night by 33% in Households (2.4/6 vs. 1.8/5) to score its top-rated Monday telecast in over 1 year – since 2/5/18. Monday's show welcomed Danny DeVito, Freddie Highmore and musical guests AJR.

Encore telecasts of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” have won the late-night ratings week of March 4-8 in the key adult 18-49 demographic over originals of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” was well as “Jimmy Kimmel Live's” week of four originals and one rebroadcast, according to “live plus same day” figures from Nielsen Media Research.

During the week of Feb. 25, 2019, ABC's “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” returned from hiatus the prior week and grew over its most recent regular week by double digits in Total Viewers (+13% - 2.170 million vs. 1.922 million) to draw its biggest audience in 15 weeks – since the week of 11/12/18. In fact, this week marked “Kimmel's” 3rd most-watched week of the season to date. Additionally, “Kimmel” improved by 7% among Adults 18-49 (496,000 vs. 464,000) to hit a 6-week high – since the week of 1/14/19.

On March 22nd, Strand of Oaks (Timothy Showalter) will return with his 6th album, Eraserland to be released via label Dead Oceans.
