The National Theatre production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time begins previews tonight, September 10. The acclaimed new play by Simon Stephens, adapted from Mark Haddon's best-selling novel, directed by Tony Award-winner Marianne Elliott, will officially open on Sunday, October 5 at the Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street).

Lynn Cohen headlines the cast, alongside Jake Robards, of the world premiere of Rivka Bekerman-Greenberg's EAVESDROPPING ON DREAMS, presented Off-Broadway by Barefoot Theatre Company. Previews began April 20, prior to an official press opening of Friday, April 27, at the Cherry Lane Studio Theatre (38 Commerce Street) in Manhattan. Ronald Cohen will direct. Joining Ms. Cohen and Mr. Robards in the cast of EAVESDROPPING ON DREAMS will be Stephanie Roth Haberle, Aidan Koehler and Christopher Whalen. Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Greg Reiner, will present its sold-out Open Rehearsal Series with Monday Night ANTONY & CLEOPATRA, featuring a company of seasoned actors and directors as they explore the text over three consecutive Monday nights beginning April 16 with Stephanie Roth Haberle and Sam Tsoutsouvas, directed by Brian Kulick; followed by Laila Robbins as Cleopatra on April 23, directed by Craig Baldwin; and finally on April 30, Kim Cattrall as Cleopatra and Anthony Heald as Antony, directed by Brian Kulick. While all three evenings are sold-out, a waiting list will form each evening at 7 pm in the lobby.

Off-Broadway's eleven-time Obie Award-winning Soho Rep - which the New York Times calls the 'downtown powerhouse' - will kick off its 2010-2011 season with the much anticipated world-premiere of ORANGE, HAT & GRACE by Gregory S. Moss (punkplay) and directed by Soho Rep Artistic Director Sarah Benson (BLASTED, THAT FACE) with previews beginning September 15 prior to an official press opening of September 23 at Soho Rep (46 Walker Street).

'Men like women with character,' is the sisterly advice a muddied, snarling, grief-stricken and murderously-crazed Elektra gives to pretty little Chrysothemis in Ann Carson's wildly clever adaptation of the ancient Greek story of bloody family doings titled An Oresteia. Growled in all seriousness by the fabulously bitter Annika Boras, the line got a huge laugh the afternoon I caught Classic Stage Company's crackling good premiere production; the swiftest five hours of theatre I've enjoyed in a long, long time.
