Center Stage is excited to announce casting for Marcus Gardley's dance of the holy ghosts, which begins previews on October 9 and is directed by Center Stage Artistic Director Kwame Kwei-Armah. Leading the cast are veteran stage and screen stars Michael Genet and Denise Burse.

TACT/The Actors Company Theatre has announced the cast and creative team for Natural Affection by William Inge, the first production of the company's 21st Season. Directed by TACT Co-Artistic Director Jenn Thompson, performances begin at Theatre Row's Beckett Theatre (410 West 42nd Street - between 9th & 10th Avenues) on Tuesday, September 17, 2013. The '60s - Back Down East 14th will move to The Marsh Berkeley, where is will start a limited engagement September 14 through October 27, 2013. From the Beatles to the Black Panthers, James Brown to The Jerk, and MLK to JFK to the KKK - CAN YOU DIG IT? The '60s - Back Down East 14th offers a view of the 1960s through the eyes of an awkward kid who's just trying to fit in. Reed, an Oakland-born comedian, is currently the opening act/warm-up comedian for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. The third installment in Reed's hilarious coming-of-age trilogy, CAN YOU DIG IT? Performs Saturdays at 8:30pm and Sundays at 7pm in the The Marsh Berkeley Theater Stage, 2120 Allston Way, Berkeley. White returns to Berkeley Rep to stage the laugh-inducing Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, a loving homage to Chekhov's themes of heartbreak and hope.

George Eastman House, together with the National Film Preservation Foundation (NFPF), the Cineteca del Friuli, and Cinemazero today announced the recovery of Mercury Theatre's long-lost Too Much Johnson, directed by Orson Welles in 1938. The silent film was found in a warehouse by the staff of Cinemazero, an art house in Pordenone, Italy.

Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Greg Reiner, announced today additional casting for its upcoming production of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet starring Elizabeth Olsen as Juliet. Academy Award winner William Hurt will play the role of Friar Laurence; Emmy Award nominee T.R. Knight has been cast as Mercutio and Tony Award nominee Daphne Rubin-Vega as the Nurse. CSC also announced that Finn Wittrock, previously announced to co-star as Romeo, has withdrawn from the production due to a film offer. A new Romeo and complete casting will be announced shortly. CSC's Romeo & Juliet, which begins performances Friday, September 27, will be directed by Tea Alagi? (Jackie). The official opening night is Wednesday, October 16. Romeo & Juliet will play a limited engagement through Sunday, November 3. Tickets will go on sale Thursday, September 5 at 12pm.

Indie filmmaker Spike Lee has joined the likes of James Franco, Zach Braff and the legions of Veronica Mars fans in launching his own Kickstarter campaign to finance his latest project -- an as-of-yet untitled film about human beings who are addicted to blood. ?Lee's funds have now surpassed $100,000 in just two days. That total includes a $10,000 pledge from fellow director Steven Soderbergh.
