KMP Artists will present vocalist, actor and songwriter Spider Saloff and her one-woman musical, "The Roar of the Butterfly" at Victory Gardens' Richard Christiansen Theater May 2 - 20, 2012.

Actress/singer Spider Saloff defies description. She has the voice of an angel and an actor look perfectly suited to character. Often compared to Tracy Ullman, it's time she was set apart. Spider Saloff is her very own special creation: a magnificent singer, delightfully versatile actress and warm human being whose inner glow shines through every moment of her one-woman tour-de-force The Roar of the Butterfly.

The event, Deep In a Dream - the Life and Music of Chet Baker features readings by NAACP Image Award Nominated author James Gavin of passages from the biography (just out in paperback), interwoven with live music well associated with the talented yet troubled Baker, who died a mysterious death on a street in Amsterdam in 1988. Jazz singer Spider Saloff and Bay Area trumpeter Erik Jekabson re-create Baker's trumpet and vocal solos.

The Roar of the Butterfly is a one-woman play with original music starring Spider Saloff. The book, music, and lyrics are also by Spider Saloff. Based on a true story, this musical comedy is a tour de force with characters everyone will fall in love with. The production will close on August 20, 2011.
