As previously announced, The Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs will celebrate the 23rd Annual MAC Awards on Monday, May 18th at 7:30pm at B.B. King Blues Club (237 West 42nd St, Between Broadway 8th Avenue). This year's performers/presenters include Polly Bergen (Recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award), Klea Blackhurst, Tyne Daly, Karen Mason, Marilyn Maye, John McDaniel, Rex Reed, Steve Ross, and Julie Wilson among others.

The nominees for the 23rd Annual MAC Awards have been announced, honoring excellence in New York City cabaret, comedy and jazz.

On Monday, Dec. 1 at 7PM the Metropolitan Room will host a rare evening of 'Jazz & Booze' featuring sets by LAURIE KRAUZ, LUBA MASON and SPIDER SALOFF

The Laurie Beechman Theatre, located within The West Bank Caf? (407 West 42nd St.), is pleased to continue our Friday night soiree, THE AFTER PARTY. Now going strong in it's third year, THE AFTER PARTY is billed as 'a weekly schmoozefest for the theatrically inclined.' Every Friday from 10:30 pm until the wee hours, pros from Broadway and aspiring stars alike belt it out on the stage of The Laurie Beechman Theatre. Join hosts BRANDON CUTRELL (MAC & Bistro Award winner) and ALYSHA UMPHRESS (XL Star) with RAY FELLMAN (Captain Louie) at the piano for this weekly party in the theatre district. There is no cover charge for this event. Come and sing yourself as the mic is always open, or sit back and enjoy a cocktail with friends. The Chicago Jazz Orchestra took on a big challenge - honoring the work of the late, great Ella Fitzgerald and they met it with imagination, class, great music and sass. The result was an almost perfect afternoon hearing some of jazz's' great songs interpreted by three of today's most gifted jazz singers - Spider Saloff, Dee Alexander and Frieda Lee.

On Sunday, October 19, 2008, Jeff Lindberg's Chicago Jazz Orchestra celebrates its run as Chicago's oldest professional jazz orchestra in continuous operation by presenting its blockbuster concert, Exquisitely for Ella: A Songbook Tribute to Ella Fitzgerald, featuring three of Chicago's greatest singers: 'Chicagoan of the Year' Dee Alexander; CJO vocalist Frieda Lee; and cabaret singer Spider Saloff.

Ricky Ritzel and Leslie Anderson will play the Metropolitan Room (34 W. 22nd St.) on Saturday, July 28th at 8 PM.

The West Bank Café has announced upcoming performances to be presented in The Laurie Beechman Theatre. The West Bank Café is located at 407 West 42nd. St., at Ninth Avenue.

Audiences will find fresh holiday entertainment this season at the Lakeshore Theater, where Chicago's dynamic musical and comedy duo Amy Armstrong and Freddy Allen take the mainstage for a limited December engagement in their first-ever holiday revue, 'How the Diva Stole Christmas.'
