The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today Fasten Your Seatbelts (Part 2): 20th Century Fox (August 9-15), a summertime big screen showcase of some of the movie studio's most beloved and unforgettable films.

The Society for the Activation of Social Space through Art and Sound (SASSAS)is pleased to present sound. at 356 S. Mission Rd.: Aaron Dilloway / Jason Lescalleet / John Wiese. The first-ever Los Angeles performance of electro-acoustic duo Aaron Dilloway and Jason Lescalleet will take place on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 8:00pm. Part of the SASSAS sound. series, the concert features two of the most respected American underground experimental/noise artists performing at 356 S. Mission Rd., a new venue created by renowned artist Laura Owens. Opening for Dilloway and Lescalleet is Los Angeles-based John Wiese, founding member of the concrete grindcore band Sissy Spacek and an alum of SASSAS's recent Tape Music concert.

The First Lady of Country Music, Loretta Lynn, joined by country legend Randy Travis, and Holly Williams, daughter and granddaughter of Hank Williams Jr. and Sr., are the first nationally known music artists to bring an old-school country twang to downtown Aurora's new RiverEdge Park, Saturday, June 29.

The New Group launches its 2013-2014 Off-Broadway season with the New York premiere of Pulitzer Prize winner Beth Henley's The Jacksonian, arriving in Fall 2013. Directed by Tony Award winner Robert Falls, this production features Ed Harris, Glenne Headly, Amy Madigan and Bill Pullman. The Jacksonian was first produced at the Geffen Playhouse in 2012. In Winter 2014, as the second production in the company's season, The New Group delivers the world premiere of Thomas Bradshaw's Intimacy, directed by Scott Elliott. The third production of The New Group's upcoming season is to be announced.

National Geographic Channel (@NatGeoChannel) today announced that up-and-coming actor Will Rothhaar (@Poetiqrothhaar) has been cast as the volatile former Marine and assassin Lee Harvey Oswald in the upcoming two-hour original factual drama Killing Kennedy by Scott Free Productions. Rothhaar is the final of the four major players in the film to be announced, joining Rob Lowe (John F. Kennedy), Ginnifer Goodwin (Jacqueline Kennedy) and Michelle Trachtenberg (Marina Oswald).

The forthcoming Broadway production REAR WINDOW has found its creative team in playwright Keith Reddin(Too Much Memory, Life and Limb) and director Terry Kinney (reasons to be pretty, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest). The play will be adapted from Cornell Woolrich's original short story, the iconic and haunting tale of the wheelchair-bound witness to a possible murder in his neighboring New York City apartment.

TV, feature and Broadway star Jack Noseworthy is set to star as Bobby Kennedy with Rob Lowe and Ginnifer Goodwin in KILLING KENNEDY. Plus he is starring in features TIO PAPI, JULIA and NEEDLESTICK.

Minneapolis Musical Theatre and Hennepin Theatre Trust announced today that MMT's 2013-14 season will feature Twin Cities debuts of Carrie The Musical, Five Course Love and Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson at the Trust's New Century Theatre. Carrie The Musical, based on Stephen King's bestselling novel, runs October 4-27, 2013. Five Course Love, a quintet of humorous and witty vignettes about true love, plays January 24-February 16, 2014. The comedic rock musical Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson will run June 6-29, 2014. This trio of shows will be directed by Steven Meerdink, Minneapolis Musical Theatre's artistic director. If Betty Comden and Adolph Green were both born in Bombay, Singin' In The Rain might have wound up resembling The New Group's new musical, Bunty Berman Presents….  Not that Ayub Khan Din (book, music and lyrics) and Paul Bogaev's (music) Bollywood-set musical comedy is on the same level as that masterwork, but the spirit of silly 1950s MGM hijinks abounds throughout the evening.  It's got laughs, it's got tunes and it offers a fun, mindless time.

I suppose Richard Foreman doesn't have many talkbacks after performances of his plays because, really, how many times can you respond to an audience member asking, 'What the f***?'

In a move almost too perfect, Sony Picture has annonced they've pushed the theatrical release date for CARRIE from March 15 to October 18 - just in time for Halloween.
