Lifetime Renews UNREAL

Lifetime has renewed its critically acclaimed scripted series UnREAL (#UnREALTV) for a second season with a 10-episode order, it was announced today by Liz Gateley, Executive Vice President and Head of Programming for Lifetime. Produced by A+E Studios, UnREAL will return next year.

Lifetime has picked up the scripted series Un-Real, ordering 10 episodes, it was announced today by Rob Sharenow, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Lifetime. Produced by A+E Studios and from Marti Noxon (Mad Men, Fright Night) and Sarah Gertrude Shapiro (Sequin Raze), the dark comedy gives a behind-the-scenes look at the chaos surrounding the production of a dating competition program. Un-Real will become the first scripted series fully financed and controlled by A+E Studios. A+E Networks will handle global sales for Un-Real.

Here we are at the penultimate episode of GIRLS' second season - a season, that, well, hasn't felt entirely like GIRLS. At least not the narrow-in-scope, boho-Brooklyn series we came to know from the first go around last year. It's turned into more of a depressing mish-mash of millennial problems and bad life decisions, that constantly make me question my own. Lena Dunham has taken GIRLS to a dark place, occasionally good, but for the most part, mediocre.
