It's surprising that in its 45 years, D.C.'s venerable Shakespeare Theatre Company has yet to produce either of Moliere's most famous plays. Perhaps, artistic director Michael Kahn suggests, they were waiting for the right one.

Tony Award nominee Brandon Uranowitz, currently appearing in An American in Paris, joins the cast of the 2015 Will on the Hill event at the Shakespeare Theatre Company. The Shakespeare Theatre Company, recipient of the 2012 Regional Theatre Tony Award, is pleased to announce the return of Potted Potter: The Unauthorized Harry Experience -- A Parody by Dan and Jeff, a 75-minute comedy production featuring all seven Harry Potter books, written and performed by two-time Olivier Award-nominated actors Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner. The Old Globe today announced the complete cast and creative team for the West Coast premiere of an exciting new American play, Rich Girl, by acclaimed playwright Victoria Stewart, continuing the Globe's 80th Anniversary festivities as part of the Balboa Park Centennial Celebration. Rich Girl will be directed by James Vasquez (Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show), and will play May 23 - June 21, 2015, in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center.

The Chicago Tribune writes that PJ Paparelli, artistic director of Chicago's American Theater Company for seven years, died today, May 21, 2015 following a car accident while on vacation in Scotland earlier this week. He was 40.

Rebecca Taichman, whose production of the time-traveling Time and the Conways fascinated audiences last April, is back to direct the first show of the 2015 Summer Shakespeare Festival.
