JERSEY BOYS Sets New Box Office Record In Charlotte

The Charlotte, NC engagement of the Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award-winning musical JERSEY BOYS broke the box office record at the Belk Theatre for the week ending April 4, with a gross of $1,164,813, breaking the previous record of $1,147,909 set by The Color Purple for week ending May 24, 2009. Broadway's MEMPHIS to Get National Tour

According to Playbilll.com, Memphis, the hit Broadway musical, will be embarking on a national tour, tentatively to launch in fall 2011. Prior to Broadway, the musical played the La Jolla Playhouse and Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre. Memphis co-author DiPietro hinted at the tour possibility in the official blog for the musical.
