Nashville Ballet's NASHVILLE'S NUTCRACKER Returns Tonight

Nashville Ballet returns this year - for the eighth consecutive year - with one of Music City's most beloved holiday traditions: Paul Vasterling's Nashville's Nutcracker, running tonight, December 5-23 at TPAC's Andrew Jackson Hall.

(Oct. 14, 2015) – Kansas City Ballet will unveil the WORLD PREMIEREof Artistic Director Devon Carney's production of The Nutcracker at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts from tonight, Dec. 5 through 24, 2015. Presented by Bank of America, The Nutcracker promises to delight audiences with its magnificent NEW choreography, sets, costumes and lighting. Special effects plus new surprises promise to elicit awe and wonder.

Boston Ballet to Present Mikko Nissinen's THE NUTCRACKER, Today

November 16, 2015—(Boston, MA) Delighting audiences of all ages with a sense of youthful imagination, Mikko Nissinen's The Nutcracker returns to the Boston Opera House from November 27–December 31, 2015. Celebrated as “elegant and theatrically striking,” this completely re-imagined production premiered in 2012 and has received praise from audiences and critics alike (The New York Times). With “sleek, bejeweled costumes and spacious, regal sets” by Robert Perdziola and all-new lighting design by Finnish-based Mikki Kunttu, this timeless holiday classic features the full company of 68 dancers along with more than 200 Boston Ballet School students (Thea Singer, The Boston Globe).

Nashville Ballet returns this year - for the eighth consecutive year - with one of Music City's most beloved holiday traditions: Paul Vasterling's Nashville's Nutcracker, running December 5-23  at TPAC's Andrew Jackson Hall. Due to popular demand, this year's production will feature a record-setting number of performances, giving audiences a grand total of 13 performances from which to choose.

Boston Ballet kicks off its 52nd season with Third Symphony of Gustav Mahler: A Ballet by John Neumeier. Captivating audiences with intensity and passion, Third Symphony of Gustav Mahler has been critically acclaimed as “a work of genius” (Clive Barnes, New York Post). Boston Ballet becomes only the fourth company in the world—after Hamburg Ballet, Paris Opera Ballet and Royal Swedish Ballet—to present Neumeier's iconic work. Boston Ballet is also the first North American company to perform it. A musical tour-de-force, Third Symphony of Gustav Mahler: A Ballet by John Neumeier will feature the Boston Ballet Orchestra along with New World Chorale, Greater Boston's premiere choral ensemble, as well as accomplished American soprano and international opera singer Sarah Pelletier. Third Symphony of Gustav Mahler will run from October 22 to November 1, 2015 at the Boston Opera House.

Seven World Premieres and More Highlight New York City Ballet's 2015-16 Season

New York City Ballet will open its 2015-16 Season at Lincoln Center tonight, September 22 with eight performances of Peter Martins' production of Tschaikovsky's Swan Lake, through Tuesday, September 29, to launch the Company's 2015 Fall Season, which will continue for four weeks through Sunday, October 18.

The KC Ballet Adds New Company Members

 Kansas City Ballet Artistic Director Devon Carney today announced the appointment of two new members, Elysa Hotchkiss and Thom Panto, and two new apprentices, Lilliana Hagerman and Naomi Hergott to the Kansas City Ballet Company. Additionally there are 10 new members of Kansas City Ballet's Second Company comprised of KCB II dancers Ivan Braatz, Nikolas Gaifullin, Aaron Steinberg and Goldie Walberg and Trainees Miranda Dafoe, Lindsay Dekleva, Elizabeth Dennen, Melanie Jensen, Zoe Stein, and Kara Troester. High resolution photos can be downloaded here.

Gaspard & Dancers' TRILOGY Set for Schimmel Center

On Friday and Saturday, September 25th and 26th, choreographer, Gaspard Louis will bring his company, Gaspard & Dancers to perform their Trilogy which pays tribute to the people of Haiti who endured the horrific 2010 earthquake that caused devastation to the island nation. “The Trilogy was my own personal response to the 2010 Haiti earthquake,” says choreographer and Artistic Director, Gaspard Louis.
