Combined Artform has announced the world premiere of Blink & You Might Miss Me, written and performed by Larry Blum and directed by Stan Zimmerman, at the Asylum Lab in Hollywood. Stuffed to the gills with excitement, energy and electricity, today we are taking a look at one of the most iconic Broadway numbers of the 1960s, originating in the 1968 Burt Bacharach/Hal David score for PROMISES, PROMISES - currently in a smash-hit revival at the Broadway Theater on Broadway starring Sean Hayes, Molly Shannon, as well as Kristin Chenoweth and Tony Goldwyn (both of whom have contributed InDepth InterViews to BroadwayWorld this year) - and featuring some of the most effervescent and unforgettable choreography of all time courtesy of Michael Bennett (in the first two clips), here is a special post-Thanksgiving edition of FLASH FRIDAY featuring "Turkey Lurkey Time" in three distinct iterations! Sean Hayes will not perform at the Tuesday, November 23, 2010 performance of PROMISES, PROMISES due to a sinus infection. He also did not perform at the matinee on Sunday, November 21. In a statement, Hayes said 'I wish I never had to miss a show. I'd sleep on the stage if the doorman didn't kick me out. I made it all the way to 271 performances but my doctor tells me that singing with a sinus infection just won't work, which kills my dream of never missing a performance for the whole run of Promises. I'm at home resting and hope to be back onstage tomorrow.' (more...)

The S.I.E. Lupus Foundation has announced the addition of Jane Krakowski, Tony award-winner and two-time Emmy nominee (of '30 Rock'), to perform at the 40th Anniversary Life Without Lupus Gala. Beginning at 6 p.m., the Gala will take place at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall on Monday, November 22, and will feature a cocktail reception, seated dinner and a live and silent auction. The evening will honor the founders -- the Golick family -- and Human Genome Sciences/ GlaxoSmithKline. The foundation has been serving the Lupus community since 1970, providing support for families coping with and suffering from this autoimmune disease; particularly those in and around the disadvantaged neighborhoods of New York City and Los Angeles. All proceeds from the Gala event will help in the Foundation's mission to promote and increase awareness, research and ongoing care. (more...)
