BroadwayWorld has just learned that ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY star Kristin Chenoweth is out of the show tonight, April 24, due to illness. Chenoweth's understudy is Mamie Parris. No word yet on when she'll be back in the show- stay tuned!

Kristin Chenoweth and the cast of ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURYstopped by this morning's TODAY to perform a medley of songs from the hit Broadway musical.

The new musical comedy Something Rotten!, directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon, Aladdin), with music and lyrics by Grammy Award winner Wayne Kirkpatrick and Golden Globe Award nominee Karey Kirkpatrick and a book by Karey Kirkpatrick and best-selling author John O'Farrell, officially opens on Broadway tonight, April 22, 2015 at the St. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street). A WICKED reunion at ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY!

Today, April 18th, TDF will host a special reception and performance of The Heidi Chronicles to celebrate the show's Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Wendy Wasserstein, and to raise funds for the arts education program she co-founded, TDF's Open Doors. Open Doors, now in its 17th year, is the first arts education program to be awarded a special Tony Honor for 'Excellence in the Theatre.'

The Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers covering New York theatre for out-of-town newspapers, national publications and other media beyond Broadway announced the nominees this morning for the 2014-15 season. The first major Broadway/Off-Broadway award nominees of the New York theater season, the organization is celebrating its 64th season of bestowing awards of excellence in the field of theater. The Outer Critics Circle is an association with members affiliated with more than ninety newspapers, magazines, radio and television stations, Internet, and theatre publications in America and abroad.
