Speranza Theatre Company invites you to World Premiere of THE AWESOME DANCE by Nick Starr. The production, directed by Malinda Sorci, marks the NY stage debut of Dileep Rao (Inception, Avatar, Drag Me To Hell). Performances run September 2 - 26 at The Cherry Pit is located at 155 Bank Street between West & Washington Streets.

On August 28, 2010, Actor and Director Ted Raimi returns home to Detroit to screen his web series, PLAYING DEAD at the Detroit Film Theatre of the Detroit Institute of Arts. This dark comedy, written by and starring Suzanne Keilly, is about a down on her luck actress that takes a part time job as Death to pay the bills.

A special one-night only concert of the new musical JAWBREAKER will be performed on July 29. Taking part in the special performance will be Shoshana Bean, and Lesli Margherita.

Crown Center Square. The famous Crown Center Square Fountain dances to famous tunes! Programmed by the company behind the renowned Fountains of Bellagio in Las Vegas, Crown Center's fountain is synchronized to music specially recorded for Crown Center by members of the Kansas City Symphony. Spartacus wasn't the first champion of the arena. Many men lived and died on the sands before him. 'Spartacus: Gods of the Arena,' the highly anticipated prequel to Starz' hit series 'Spartacus: Blood and Sand,' brings to life the story of Gannicus, the first gladiator to become Champion of Capua. Australian actor Dustin Clare has been tapped for the role in the series which begins production this August and will air early next year on Starz.

Dating back to 1981, the Evil Dead films combined to make one of the most beloved cult franchises in the history of cinema. Directed by Sam Raimi (Spiderman), and starring cult icon Bruce Campbell (Burn Notice), these movies used comedy, gore, slapstick, blood, one-liners, and some of the most creative camera techniques ever seen to revolutionize the horror genre.

According to Deadline, Sam Raimi is confirmed to direct Disney's highly anticipated Wizard of Oz Prequel, 'Oz: The Great and Powerful'. The deal was confirmed last night by Creative Artists Agency (CAA). Additionally, Robert Downey Jr. is rumored to be in talks to star as the Wizard.

Performances began March 18 at HERE (www.here.org), 145 Sixth Avenue (between Spring and Broome Streets, enter on Dominick Street). 'ALICE IN SLASHERLAND' officially opened on Sunday, March 21 at 8:30 p.m. Performances conclude Saturday, April 10.
