UP ON THE MARQUEE: LA BETE!

The first major revival of David Hirson's Olivier Award-winning comedy LA BÊTE starring Tony and Olivier Award winner Mark Rylance, Tony and Emmy Award winner David Hyde Pierce, and BAFTA Award winner (and star of 'Absolutely Fabulous') Joanna Lumley began previews at Broadway's Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street) on September 23, 2010. This new production, helmed by acclaimed director Matthew Warchus (God of Carnage, Boeing-Boeing, The Norman Conquests), will officially open October 14, 2010. This immediately follows a limited summer engagement at the Comedy Theatre in London's West End from June 26-September 4, 2010 with opening night set for July 7. Matthew Warchus' production of David Hirson's La Bête, starring Mark Rylance, David Hyde Pierce and Joanna Lumley, will complete its run as scheduled at the Comedy Theatre on 4 September, transferring immediately to the Music Box Theatre on Broadway with previews from 23 September and opening on 14 October.

WEST SIDE STORY Tour to Play Omaha 10/19-10/24

The first national tour of the current Broadway production of WEST SIDE STORY is coming to Omaha. WEST SIDE STORY will be presented at the Orpheum Theater October 19 - 24, 2010 by Omaha Performing Arts and Broadway Across America. Tony Award-winning librettist Arthur Laurents' Broadway direction will be recreated for the tour by David Saint, the Associate Director on Broadway. The original Jerome Robbins choreography is reproduced by Tony Award-nominee Joey McKneely (The Boy from Oz, The Life).

The New York Times reports today that LA CAGE's most temperamental Cagelle, Nick Adams, will be joining the cast of PRISCILLA, QUEEN OF THE DESERT. Assuming the familiar role of yet another drag queen, Adams will play the role of Felicia in the North American company of PRISCILLA, which will open at the Princess of Wales Theatre in Toronto on October 12 before heading to Broadway next spring.
