Producer Scott Rudin announced today that, on the heels of winning four Tony Awards including Best Play, The Humans will move into Broadway's Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 West 45th Street) to extend its limited run. The Humans will play its first performance in its new home on Tuesday, August 9. It will play its final performance at the Helen Hayes Theatre on Sunday, July 24, and then take a two-week hiatus to allow for the move. As previously announced, the Hayes is set to undergo significant renovations beginning in August. (more...)

St. Louis' own Fox Theatricals received a 2016 Tony® Award as a producer of THE HUMANS, a new Broadway play by Stephan Karam.  THE HUMANS received a total of four 2016 Tony nominations:  Best Play,  Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Play (Reed Birney), Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Play (Jayne Houdyshell) and Best Scenic Design of a Play (David Zinn).  The show received additional nominations for Best Lighting Design of a Play (Justin Townsend) and Best Direction of a Play (Joe Mantello). Producer Stacey Mindich has confirmed that the recently-announced Broadway premiere of the new musical Dear Evan Hansen has found its home: it will officially open at the Belasco Theatre (111 West 44th Street) on Sunday, December 4, 2016.  Previews begin in November.   With a book by Steven Levenson, score by Tony® Award nominees Benj Pasek & Justin Paul, and direction by 3-time Tony® Award nominee Michael Greif, Dear Evan Hansen had its world premiere at Arena Stage, Washington D.C., this past summer and recently concluded its record-breaking New York debut at Off-Broadway's Second Stage.  Tickets for the open-ended Broadway engagement go on sale June 19.  For more news and information on tickets, visit www.DearEvanHansen.com. AN AMERICAN IN PARIS will launch a national tour in Boston at the Citi Wang Theatre October 25-November 6, following a preview period at Proctor's in Schenectady, NY. As previously announced, Garen Scribner,currently playing Jerry Mulligan in the Broadway production, will star in the tour along with Sara Esty, who plays Lise Dassin at various performances on Broadway. The Tony Award winning hit musical AN AMERICAN IN PARIS just celebrated its first year on Broadway last night, April 12. Since it opened on April 12, 2015 at the Palace Theatre, AN AMERICAN IN PARIS has played 416 regular performances and 29 previews and has been seen by over 650,000 people.
