Stages Repertory Theatre, Shakespeare Globe Centre of the Southwest Will Bring ROMEO & JULIET to Schools

Stages Repertory Theatre is partnering with the Shakespeare Globe Centre of the Southwest to present a free 45-minute performance of ROMEO & JULIET for Houston-area high school campuses and other facilities. Director Rutherford Cravens brings together four students - Christine Arnold, Nicole Gamache, Miguel Garcia, Paige Warton - from the University of Houston School of Theatre and professional actor Eva Laporte for the five-person adaptation.
Valentine's Weekend at Utah Symphony to Feature ROMEO & JULIET

The Utah Symphony and Music Director Thierry Fischer will present symphonic musical retellings of the tragic tale of Romeo and Juliet this Valentine's Day weekend with a special, additional performance night on Thursday, February 14.

Just in time for Valentine's Day, the Houston Symphony promises an evening of starry-eyed music in collaboration with guest conductor, Gilbert Varga and Norwegian violinist, Vilde Frang. Featuring pieces composed on contemplations of love, the program for the concerts on February 14, 16 and 17 will feature the music of Wagner, Mozart and Prokofiev.

Romeo and Juliet might just be the best-known teenagers in the history of English literature. Highlighting the famous pair's youth, this production of Shakespeare's tragedy Romeo and Juliet has cast two local teenagers in the title roles. Margaret Flock, a senior at the Lovett School in Atlanta, and Jake West, a senior at North Cobb Christian School in Kennesaw, GA, will portray the ‘star cross'd lovers' in the professional company's annual production.

According to The NY Post, it may be a while until Leonardo DiCaprio fans will be seeing their idol up on the big screen. In a recent interview with the German newspaper 'Bild,' the actor revealed, 'I'm a little bit drained. I am now going to take a long long break.' he added, 'I'm just worn out.'

The Flea Theater will continue it's tradition of late-night offerings with The Shakes: Romeo and Juliet. Five teams of actors helmed by five Flea Resident Directors each perform an act from Shakespeare's most tragic love story. Cast from The Flea resident acting company, The Bats, Romeo and Juliet follows the inaugural Shakes, The Honest Whore by Thomas Dekker and Thomas Middleton. The Shakes: Romeo and Juliet will be performed in one-act installments until the play is complete.
