Preview performances began last night, Saturday August 24, for the new Broadway production of Shakespeare's timeless love story ROMEO AND JULIET starring international film star Orlando Bloom, making his Broadway debut opposite two-time Tony Award nominee Condola Rashad. The play's opening night is set for Thursday, September 19, 2013 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. Shakespeare's Sister Company launches their fifth season with an indiegogo campaign dedicated to their anniversary production of 'Romeo & Juliet'. William Shakespeare's epic tragedy will be set in the roaring 1920's of Chicago when gang rivalries arose over power struggles within the underworld culture. We will perform 'Romeo and Juliet' in a New York City theater, which was originally a prohibition era speakeasy where jazz great, John Coltrane, and legendary singer, Frank Sinatra had performed.

International film star Orlando Bloom will make his Broadway debut alongside Tony Award nominee Condola Rashad, as Shakespeare's star-crossed lovers in a new Broadway production of the timeless love story ROMEO AND JULIET, directed by five-time Tony Award nominee David Leveaux. After a sold out two-week run and rave reviews from The New York Times and the New York Post, Three Day Hangover is extending The HAMLET Project: Summer in the City with two additional performances on Sunday, August 25th and Monday, August 26th at 8pm. The next She&Her production, Romeo & Juliet, opens Friday, September 13. The show will run 2 weeks, closing on Sunday, September 22. This is your official call to volunteer! Cincinnati Shakespeare Company presents the 2013 FREE Shakespeare in the Park Tour sponsored by Kroger. CSC will present 20 performances of their touring productions of 'Romeo & Juliet' and 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' throughout the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area at local community parks and venues. These performances are FREE and open to the public.

Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Greg Reiner, announced today additional casting for its upcoming production of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet starring Elizabeth Olsen as Juliet. Academy Award winner William Hurt will play the role of Friar Laurence; Emmy Award nominee T.R. Knight has been cast as Mercutio and Tony Award nominee Daphne Rubin-Vega as the Nurse. CSC also announced that Finn Wittrock, previously announced to co-star as Romeo, has withdrawn from the production due to a film offer. A new Romeo and complete casting will be announced shortly. CSC's Romeo & Juliet, which begins performances Friday, September 27, will be directed by Tea Alagi? (Jackie). The official opening night is Wednesday, October 16. Romeo & Juliet will play a limited engagement through Sunday, November 3. Tickets will go on sale Thursday, September 5 at 12pm.

Amidst the turmoil, two star-crossed teens' search for love leads them to a tragic end, putting to rest the futile family conflict. American Stage Theatre Company announces the second play of our 2012-2013 Summer Series on our Mainstage: MY NAME IS ASHER LEV a new play by Aaron Posner, adapted from the best-selling novel by Chaim Potok. This production is an area premiere and winner of the 2013 Outer Critics Circle Award for 'Outstanding New Off-Broadway Play'. Previews tonight, July 17 and the 18th. Opening Night is July 19 and the production runs through August 25.
