Gruesome Playground Injuries follows the decades-spanning relationship of an accident-prone daredevil and a corrosive masochist who navigate friendship, love, and the wounds created in between. This Saturday, June 21st Fran Drescher hosts her annual wellness brunch fundraiser for her organization Cancer Schmancer at Tavern on the Green at 11 am. Brunch is followed by a 2 pm performance of Cinderella, the Broadway production in which Drescher stars as the Wicked Stepmother.

THE SUNSHINE BOYS by Neil Simon, the second show of its three-show Summer Nutmeg Summer Series at Connecticut Repertory Theatre is onstage June 19-29 in the Harriet S. Jorgensen Theater, Storrs. The Neil Simon penned comedy is led by Broadway and Television veterans Jerry Adler as Willie Clark and Richard Kline as Al Lewis.

The Banff World Media Festival (BANFF) today announced that Nathan Lane will be presented with the prestigious Sir Peter Ustinov Comedy Award at the 35th annual Festival, being held June 8-11, 2014. The Award recognizes a creative talent that has made an outstanding comedic contribution to the media industry. Past honorees include Ricky Gervais, Tracey Ullman, Chuck Lorre, Martin Short, and 2013 recipient Craig Ferguson.
