The recipients of NATPE's 16th Annual Brandon Tartikoff Legacy Awards are comedian and media mogul Byron Allen, producer and writer, Mara Brock Akil, former Chairman of NBC EntertainmentRobert Greenblatt, actress, singer and dancer Rita Moreno, award winning actress and comedian Betty White and actor Henry Winkler. They will receive the prestigious award at a special reception on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at the Eden Roc in Miami Beach. The Brandon Tartikoff Legacy Award is presented each year during the annual NATPE Miami Marketplace & Conference, which will take place from January 22 to 24, 2019, at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida.

John Leguizamo's Road to Broadway follows the always provocative Leguizamo as he prepares for his most challenging theatrical quest yet - cramming 3,000 years of Latino history into 90 minutes of stage time for his one man show. With extraordinary access to his creative process, the film traces the evolution of his latest success, Tony-nominated play Latin History for Morons, from its challenging premise through its triumphant debut. A special co-presentation of Great Performances and Latino Public Broadcasting's VOCES, John Leguizamo's Road to Broadway, directed by Ben DeJesus, premieres nationwide Friday, November 16 at 9 p.m. on PBS (check local listings). Honoring one of the world's most revered artists, The Music Center celebrated Joni Mitchell on November 6 and 7, 2018, with two all-star concerts - JONI 75: A Birthday Celebration Live at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion - and an exclusive gala, co-hosted with Vanity Fair and its editor Radhika Jones, which feted her 75th birthday and raised funds for The Music Center's artistic programming, specifically free and low cost programming for underserved communities. The concerts featured performances by Brandi Carlile; Glen Hansard; Emmylou Harris; Norah Jones; Chaka Khan; Diana Krall; Kris Kristofferson; Los Lobos with La Marisoul, Cesar Castro & Xochi Flores; Graham Nash; Seal; James Taylor; and Rufus Wainwright. The artists lit up the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion stage performing Mitchell's songs, which spanned all stages of her career. Co-musical directors Brain Blade and Jon Cowherd provided the evenings' musical arrangements.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the full cast and creative team for Paradise Square: An American Musical. The world premiere is helmed by acclaimed director Moises Kaufman, with choreography by the legendary Bill T. Jones and a book by Marcus Gardley, Craig Lucas, and Larry Kirwan. Music by Jason Howland and Larry Kirwan, with lyrics by Nathan Tysen, and based on the songs of Stephen Foster. Paradise Square is produced by special arrangement with Garth H. Drabinsky in association with Peter LeDonne and Teatro Proscenium Limited Partnership.

But finding these heroes isn't easy for everyone, especially young girls of color. That's why "Girls Who Colored Outside the Lines," a new coloring book looking to inspire little girls of color, is expected to make big waves. The book will feature portraits of awesome she-roes of color including Maya Angelou, Rita Moreno, Malala Yousafzai, Anna May Wong and other powerful role models drawn by artists of color.
