Over the weekend, ABSINTHE on the Strip at Caesars Palace welcomed to its venue two celebrities that were in town making a splash-American country music singer Charley Pride and celebrity Chef Rick Bayless.

The 2011-2012 school year marks Chicago Academy for the Arts' 30th anniversary year, and a year-long series of events and activities celebrating the occasion will culminate with A Taste for the Arts/30th Anniversary Gala, tonight, May 10, 2012 at the Harris Theater and Millennium Park Terrace. This evening, hosted by Rick and Deann Bayless and Donna LaPietra and Bill Kurtis, and chaired by Stephen Flach and Chris Fryson, with honorary chair Mayor Rahm Emanuel, civic committee chair Barbara Levy Kipper and arts committee chair Jim Belushi, will highlight student and alumni art and performance alongside the dazzling cuisine of Chicago's top chefs, including Rick Bayless, Sarah Grueneberg, Tony Mantuano, Stephanie Izard, Chris Jones, Richie Farina, Dale Levitski, Amanda Rockman, Heather Terhune and Takashi Yagihashi.

Lookingglass Theatre, Frontera Grill and Silverguy Entertainment present Rick Bayless in Cascabel: Dinner - Daring - Desire, described as 'an unforgettable theatrical adventure featuring a sumptuous feast, world-class circus acts, and a tantalizing love story starring celebrity chef Rick Bayless.' The culinary and theatrical experience of the year runs for four weeks only, March 21 through tonight, April 22, 2012 at Lookingglass Theatre Company, located inside Chicago's historic Water Tower Water Works, 821 N. Michigan Ave. at Pearson.

Lookingglass Theatre, Frontera Grill and Silverguy Entertainment announce additional performances of Rick Bayless in Cascabel: Dinner - Daring - Desire, a theatrical adventure featuring a feast, circus acts, and a love story starring celebrity chef Rick Bayless. The culinary and theatrical experience has been extended an additional week, through April 29, 2012, at Lookingglass Theatre Company, located inside Chicago's historic Water Tower Water Works.

Friday night at the Waldorf-Astoria, Bette Midler hosted Hulaween 2011, her annual gala to benefit the New York Restoration Project. In addition to a lauded career as a singer and actress, Midler has made her first foray into Broadway producing with PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT, currently playing on Broadway at the Palace Theatre.
