Tony-winning composer Jason Robert Brown's much-loved stage musical The Last Five Years gets the big screen treatment in The Last Five Years- a dynamic, achingly romantic new film from Oscar-nominated filmmaker Richard LaGravenese (The Fisher King) and starring Oscar nominee Anna Kendrick (Into the Woods, Pitch Perfect) and Tony nominee Jeremy Jordan (Newsies, 'Smash'). BroadwayWorld was on hand for the NYC premiere of the film, which was held at the show's original home, the Minetta Lane Theatre. Check out photos from inside the special night below!

The Lion, the gripping, highly acclaimed autobiographical solo show written and performed by Benjamin Scheuer, opened last night, February 8th, at the Lynn Redgrave Theater at Culture Project (45 Bleecker Street). Directed by Sean Daniels, The Lion will play an extended engagement Off-Broadway through March 29th, following an award-winning run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and sold-out productions at the Manhattan Theatre Club and London's St. James Theatre. SubCulture's scheduled Jason Robert Brown concert, featuring guest artist Sierra Boggess, has been cancelled tonight due to inclement weather, it was announced this afternoon.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, producers Peter Schneider and Elisabetta di Mambro have acquired the rights to to create a stage version of Sara Gruen's Water for Elephants. Schneider told THR: 'I have loved Sara Gruen's Water for Elephants since it was first published and was captivated by its theatricality. It is so dramatic - a woman who is trapped in a relationship for all the wrong reasons meets and falls in love with a man for all the right reasons. Throw in an elephant as a matchmaker and you have the potential for a show of great imagination and emotional depth.'

Sh-K-Boom Records has announced the release of THE LAST FIVE YEARS (ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK), the musical companion to the eagerly anticipated RADiUS-TWC film. THE LAST FIVE YEARS (ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK) will be available beginning Tuesday, February 10; The Last Five Years arrives in theatres and VOD on Friday, February 13.
