Review - Ummm… Isn't John Lithgow in this?

I'm all for creative non-traditional casting, but is Katie Holmes now playing Joe Keller, the successful businessman accused of selling faulty airplane parts to the U.S. government during World War II, in the upcoming Broadway revival of All My Sons? I only ask because this MSNBC blurb is about how she's starring in the production. I would think she'd be better suited for the supporting role of Ann Deever, the daughter of Keller's business partner who has been romantically involved with both of his two sons

DOUBT, A Parable, has a new, expanded title since it began its Broadway run, but it's the same riveting drama that gathered a Pulitzer Prize and Best Play Tony Award. And the upcoming Human Race Theatre Company production will provide even more emotional intensity, thanks to the intimacy of the 219-seat Loft Theatre.

The ENO has a Ball with Kismet
by Robert Gould
- Jul 14, 2007
Gary Griffin - fresh from the success of his recent Broadway production, 'The Color Purple' - has returned to London (where his Donmar Warehouse production of Sondheim's 'Pacific Overtures' won him a richly deserved Olivier Award in 2003) to present a revival of the 1950s musical, 'Kismet' at the London Coliseum for the ENO. The show, originally staged at the Ziegfield theatre in New York in 1953, has music and lyrics by Robert Wright and George Forrest, adapted from musical themes by Borodin. The original book by Charles Lederer and Luther Davis has been reworked by Kit Hesketh-Harvey and Griffin's colourful, energetic and beautifully paced production, magnificently complemented by the set design by Ultz and Wolfgang Gobbel's lighting design, breathes new life into a classic.
