Old Vic's Voices Off Series Sets Lineup for THE HAIRY APE, Starring Bertie Carvel

The second series of events aligned with Matthew Warchus' new season at The Old Vic have been announced to coincide with the opening of THE HAIRY APE on Thursday 29 October, with previews from Monday 19 October. The events aim to stimulate debate surrounding topics brought to light in Eugene O'Neill's iconic American story of class and identity.

The Old Vic announces the full cast joining Bertie Carvel inRichard Jones' new production of THE HAIRY APE, the second production in Matthew Warchus' opening season as Artistic Director. THE HAIRY APE opens on 29 October, with previews from 17 October, and will see The Old Vic theatre transformed back to its original proscenium arch layout.

The ensemble is set for Nick Gill's adaptation of Franz Kafka's THE TRIAL at the Young Vic this summer. As previously announced, Rory Kinnear stars as 'Josef K' in the play, directed by Richard Jones and running tonight, June 19 through August 22, 2015.

On Sunday 26 April 2015 at The Savoy Theatre, the winners of the International Opera Awards were announced in a ceremony hosted by Richard E. Grant. The evening celebrated excellence in opera while also raising funds for the Opera Awards Foundation, which aims to support those starting their careers in the field of opera.

Today in 1997, Titanic opened at the Lunt-Fonatnne Theatre, where it ran for 804 performances. Titanic is a musical with music and lyrics by Maury Yeston and a book by Peter Stone that won five Tony Awards including the award for Best Musical. Titanic is set on the ocean liner RMS Titanic which sank on its maiden voyage on April 15, 1912. Directed by Richard Jones with choreography by Lynne Taylor-Corbett, the cast included John Cunningham, David Garrison, Larry Keith, Alma Cuervo, Michael Cerveris, Victoria Clark, and Brian d'Arcy James.

It opens tonight, February 25, with five performances through Thursday, March 5. World premiere presentations of The Property are presented in partnership with the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts in Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood Feb. 25, 26, 27, with additional performances at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in suburban Skokie Mar. 4-5.
