Sundance Institute presents the films selected for the U.S. and World Cinema Dramatic and Documentary Competitions and the out-of-competition NEXT <=> section of the 2014 Sundance Film Festival, today, January 16-26 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance, Utah.

Academy Award winner Frances McDormand ('Fargo,' 'North Country') and Academy Award nominee Richard Jenkins ('The Visitor,' HBO's 'Six Feet Under') star in the HBO Miniseries drama OLIVE KITTERIDGE, a film by Academy Award-nominated director Lisa Cholodenko ('The Kids Are All Right,' 'Laurel Canyon'). Based on Elizabeth Strout's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name and written by Emmy-winner Jane Anderson (HBO's 'The Positively True Adventures of the Alleged Texas Cheerleader-Murdering Mom' and 'Normal'), the miniseries recently completed production in Massachusetts for debut later this year on HBO.

The Santa Barbara International Film Festival continues its tradition of honoring the year's standout performers by presenting The 2014 Virtuosos Award to Daniel Brühl (Rush), Adèle Exarchopoulos (Blue Is The Warmest Color), Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis), Michael B. Jordan (Fruitvale Station), Brie Larson (Short Term 12), Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club) and June Squibb (Nebraska)

Sundance Institute announced today the films selected for the U.S. and World Cinema Dramatic and Documentary Competitions and the out-of-competition NEXT <=> section of the 2014 Sundance Film Festival, January 16-26 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance, Utah.

According to Deadline, Bill Murray will appear in HBO's upcoming miniseries OLIVE KITTERIDGE.

Based on the book by Elizabeth Strout, OLIVE KITTERIDGE is written by Jane Anderson and centers on Olive (McDormand), who lives in a New England town full of affairs, crime and tragedy. Gallagher, Jr. will play Christopher Kitteridge, the son of Olive and Henry (Jenkins). Zoe Kazan, Jesse Plemons, and John Gallagher, Jr. also recently boarded the series.

Fresh on the heels of their sold out run of season opener The Grapes of Wrath, Trinity Rep continues their 50th anniversary season with the New England premiere of Christopher Durang's smash-hit comedy Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. Directed by The Richard L. Bready Artistic Director Curt Columbus, the show beings in previews November 21st in the intimate Dowling Theater and runs through December 22nd. Taking takes his cue from some of Anton Chekhov's most recognizable characters, Durang wickedly adds more than a dash of pop culture, a huge helping of dark humor and then lets the characters stew in a pressure cooker of their own devising. The result is a whirlwind weekend of classic Durang barbs, over the top tirades and ridiculously hysterical situations hailed as "Terrifically kooky!" by Entertainment Weekly. For those that are not familiar with Uncle Vanya or Cherry Orchard, Critics agree that 'Even if you've never read a word of Chekhov, you're likely to find plenty to make you laugh…' (The New York Times.) Mark Canton (300, 300: Rise of an Empire, Escape Plan), Randall Emmett (End of Watch, 2 Guns,Lone Survivor) and David Knoller (“Big Love,' 'Carnivàle”) serve as executive producers in association with CBS Television Studios.
