Chicago Shakespeare Theatre Presents Coward's PRIVATE LIVES in the Round, 1/6 - 3/7

The Chicago Shakespeare Theatre will present a new staging of Noel Coward's PRIVATE LIVES. The play, set in a hotel balcony, will presented in the round in the new staging, by acclaimed Chicago director Gary Griffin. Performances for the production will begin January 6th. The company has added new seating to its Courtyard Theatre in order to accommodate Griffin's idea, adding seats around the proscenium.

Pasadena Playhouse announced casting today for their upcoming production of Lerner and Loewe's CAMELOT, featuring book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe. Nine-time Emmy Award-winning director/writer/producer David Lee (co-creator of 'Frasier' and director of the Ovation Award-winning production of Can-Can at Pasadena Playhouse) directs a cast of eight in this timeless tale of passion, desire and betrayal. Based on 'The Once and Future King' by T.H. White, CAMELOT was originally directed and staged by Moss Hart on Broadway in 1960. The musical, which is the first production of the Playhouse's 2010 Season, will play January 8 - February 7, 2010 with the official press opening on Friday, January 15 at Pasadena Playhouse.

Character actor Charles Davis, who performed the role of Og in the first installment of Finian's Rainbow for over 1000 performances from 1947 - 1948 on Broadway and on tour, died of an apparent heart attack in Thousand Oaks California at 84.

Jason Donovan & Liz McClarnon Set for WAR OF THE WORLDS Tour in 2010

Whatsonstage.com is reporting that Jason Donovan and Atomic Kitten's Liz McClarnon will topline a new tour of Jeff Wayne's musical adaptation of HG Wells' The War of the Worlds, which will begin in Amsterdam on November 25, 2010 and play stadiums around the Europe. The tour will make stops in Antwerp, Dublin, Belfast, Newcastle, Glasgow, Sheffield, Manchester, Liverpool, Nottingham, Birmingham, Bournemouth, London, Cardiff, Brighton and Wembley, and will conclude in Germany in January 2011. Specific tour dates are expected to be announced shortly.
