The City Theatre Company Presents OTHELLO, Opening 2/21

The City Theatre Company will continue its 2013 theatre season with William Shakespeare's Othello, the Moor of Venice from February 21- March 17 at City Theatre. CTC's Jeff Hinkle, who previously directed Romeo and Juliet, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Hamlet, leads with a dynamic and beautiful interpretation of this timeless, tragic tale of love, deceit, jealousy and revenge.

Legendary playwright Edward Albee rarely attends Broadway productions because much of what gets produced is "usually junk," he tells Tracy Smith in an interview with CBS SUNDAY MORNING WITH CHARLES OSGOOD to be broadcast Jan. 27 (9:00 AM, ET). He also says he lies on his Tony ballots, too.

The Picture Show at Bay Street Theatre, sponsored by Peconic Landing continues with classic films this winter and spring. All films start at 8 pm. Tickets are $7 at the door and include a small box of popcorn. For the $28 prix-fixe 'Dinner and a Movie' package, call Page at 63 Main (631-725-1810), IL Capuccino (631-725-2747) or Sen (631-725-1774). Today in 1960, Camelot opened at the Majestic Theatre, where it ran for 873 performances. Camelot is a musical by Alan Jay Lerner (book and lyrics) and Frederick Loewe (music). It is based on the King Arthur legend as adapted from the T. H. White tetralogy novel The Once and Future King. The original 1960 production, directed by Moss Hart and orchestrated by Robert Russell Bennett and Philip J. Lang, won four Tony Awards and spawned several revivals, foreign productions and a 1967 film version.

Lifetime's LIZ & DICK Scores 3.5 Million Viewers

Modeled after PBD's very popular Master Playwrights Series, the new series will kick off on January 11 at 8pm, with a concert of Camelot, the final Broadway musical from the team of Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe. The remaining performances are January 12 (2pm and 8pm), and January 13 (2pm). The series will be directed by Clive Cholerton, former artistic director of the Caldwell Theatre Company in Boca Raton. Musical director for Camelot is Caryl Fantel. All tickets are $35.00. Tickets go on sale on November 14.

BREAKING: Emily Padgett and Matthew Hydzik Set to Lead FLASHDANCE Tour!

Broadway stars Emily Padgett and Matthew Hydzik will star as "Alex" and "Nick" in the world premiere of FLASHDANCE - THE MUSICAL, the stage adaptation of the 1983 hit film that defined a generation. Padgett and Hydzik will be joined on stage by the legendary Rachelle Rak in the role of "Tess." Sergio Trujillo, director and choreographer for the production returned to the home of FLASHDANCE and launch of the world premiere, Pittsburgh's Heinz Hall, to announce the lead casting from a press conference. Mayor Luke Ravenstahl and Kevin McMahon, CEO of Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, were also on hand to welcome the cast and creative team to Pittsburgh and to make a proclamation, naming January 1, 2013 as FLASHDANCE DAY. Celebrating its 30th Anniversary,FLASHDANCE kicks off a national tour January 1-6 at Heinz Hall and continues on to more than 20 cities with additional bookings to be announced:
