The Theatre League's Summer Theatre Fest has become an integral part of South Florida's cultural landscape, and in its sixth year South Florida audiences will once again have the opportunity to see theatre for free and check out new plays in development by South Florida playwrights.  The program's continued and growing success over of past five years has indicated to the League that theatre patrons are ready and willing to try new theatrical experiences, and even cross county lines to do it.

Directed by Michael Myers at Ruskin Group Theatre in Santa Monica, California, the world premiere of Ron Nelson's The Rainbow Bridge opens July 21st. Lynne Marie Stewart stars alongside an award winning cast which includes Mary Carrig, Emily Jerez, Jaimi Paige, Paul Schackman, L. Emille Thomas, and Mouchette Van Helsdingen.

Kicking off the 2017 Season at Ruskin Group Theatre, Dave Florek directs the World Premiere of Justin Yoffe's THE GUN.

Award winning writer/performer Paul Linke's new chapter gives audiences a look at how a once lost young man found his way to a success future, by taking a chance and grabbing at the opportunities and strength that he saw around him.

Many will remember Sideways as the Academy Award and Golden Globe winning 2004 film based on Rex Pickett's novel. The production now at the St James Theatre is directed by David Grindley and written by Pickett. Sideways is about a pair of middle-aged men drinking their way through California's wine country on a bachelor trip before one of them gets married.

The European premiere of Rex Pickett's acclaimed comedy SIDEWAYS opens tonight at St James Theatre, directed by David Grindley, for a limited run until July 9. The cast features Daniel Weyman (Miles), Simon Harrison (Jack), Ellie Piercy (Maya), Beth Cordingly (Terra), Anne Kavanagh(Phyllis/Evelyn), Kirsten Hazel Smith (Rosie/Victoria) and Daniel Barry (Chris/Daryl).

Sideways' limited run begins today, 26 May and runs until 9 July, with press night on 31 May.

La Jolla Playhouse announces a fifth production for its 2013/14 season: the world premiere of The Tallest Tree, a new play with music written and performed by Daniel Beaty (Emergency, Through the Night), directed by Moises Kaufman (I Am My Own Wife, The Laramie Project). A co-production with Kansas City Repertory Theatre, The Tallest Tree will run in The Playhouse's Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre tonight, October 9 - November 3, 2013. The piece is produced in association with Tectonic Theater Project.

Due to popular demand, La Jolla Playhouse has extended the run of its production of Sideways, by Rex Pickett, directed by Playhouse Director Emeritus Des McAnuff (Jersey Boys, Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots). Playhouse Artistic Director Christopher Ashley (Glengarry Glen Ross, Memphis) will direct His Girl Friday, John Guare's (Six Degrees of Separation, The House of Blue Leaves) acclaimed adaptation of the Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur play The Front Page and the Howard Hawks film His Girl Friday, with screenplay by Charles Lederer, produced by Columbia Pictures. The production will kick off the season in June/July in the Mandell Weiss Theatre.
