Regarded as one of most popular musicals of all time, the classic My Fair Lady turns 60 and receives this month a new theatrical production signed by the Director Jorge Takla. With a great cast and live orchestra, the show - based on the classic Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw - tells the story of an aristocrat teacher, Mr. Henry Higgins, who takes up the challenge to transform the poor Eliza Doolittle, street vendor without any refinement, in a society lady. With luxurious scenery and costumes, the show will have place at the Santander Theatre, in Sao Paulo, between August 27 and November 6, 2016.

The story line of Blithe Spirit could be anyone's fantasy: return to life as a ghost and haunt your former spouse and newly betrothed partner. Such is the premise of Noel Coward's comedy opening May 4 at the Alhambra Theater & Dining for a four-week run. Blithe Spirit has been heralded as one of three jewels in Coward's crown. It's most recent Broadway and touring revival from starred Angela Lansbury received rave reviews around the country. The Alhambra performances will feature Lisa Valdini-Booth in the lead role of medium, Madame Arcati, who leads the seance that brings back the ghost of Charles Condomine's wife.

Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe's near masterpiece of a musical MY FAIR LADY took Broadway by storm 60 years ago this year and has become a 20th century classic. I am happy to report the plucky flower girl from the mean streets of London who gets molded into a proper lady is as lovely as ever as presented by Riverside Performing Arts Center. The sparkling wit, unrequited romance, musical hall turns and lush music are all performed with love and panache in director Patrick A'Hearn's production, featuring well-known DC actor Thomas Adrian Simpson as Henry Higgins and Riverside veteran Quinn Vogt-Welch in the title role.

The Pajama Game (1957), based on the stage musical of the same name. Teacher's Pet (1958), romantic comedy opposite the iconic Clark Gable. Pillow Talk (1959), the first of three her memorable romantic comedies with Rock Hudson which earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role. Midnight Lace (1960), a box office hit mystery thriller with Rex Harrison. Lover Come Back (1961), her second film, also a romantic comedy, with Hudson. That Touch of Mink (1962), a romantic comedy with the iconic Cary Grant. The Thrill of It All (1963), a romantic comedy with wry, handsome leading man James Garner. Move Over Darling (1964), a comedy film, her second with Garner. And, Send Me No Flowers (1964), her third film, a comedy, with Hudson. Day was one of the top box office and pop stars of the '50s and '60s, In all, she appeared in 39 feature films.
