Comedy Central announced today it has acquired all seven seasons of the Peabody Award-winning and Emmy-nominated Universal Television series Parks and Recreation, which will make its Comedy Central debut with an all-day marathon on January 21 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day). With seven new works based on true events from Greenwich Village history, the festival brings together leading NYC experimental theatre artists, musicians, physical comedians and clowns for two programs, each consisting of an interactive pre-show and four short stories that bring the surrounding neighborhood to life. The event, recommended for ages 5 and up, is presented by New Ohio Theatre as part of its Theatre for Young Minds holiday series. The performances run from December 20 thru 31 at 154 Christopher Street, NYC. FOX has ordered the animated family comedy DUNCANVILLE, from Golden Globe winner Amy Poehler (“Parks and Recreation,” “Saturday Night Live”) and Mike and Julie Scully (THE SIMPSONS, “The Carmichael Show”), all of whom are co-creators and executive producers on the series. Written by Mike and Julie Scully, DUNCANVILLE will feature the voices of Poehler, who will star as two characters, Emmy Award nominee Rashida Jones (“Parks and Recreation,” “Angie Tribeca”) and Golden Globe nominee Wiz Khalifa (“American Dad!,” “BoJack Horseman”). Thirteen episodes have been ordered, and the series is set to premiere during the 2019-2020 season.
